A weaker dollar is inevitable. China being part of BRICS will do any thing to make the dollar weaker to improve their economic situation and aid the importation of commodities into the country.

This is a scam .. This inflation is not a demand issue. It's a supply and corporate greed but they want to punish the consumer . The system is rigged. We need a temporary price controls and fines until those prices come down wither is from the imports or from inside

It is very deceiving the way they calculate inflation and unemployment. The fact is, we are paying 100% to 300% more for almost everything since 2020. Unemployment is apparently cited as the number of new applications filed without the number of existing claims that are still in effect. The people who no longer work at all are even not included.

  12. @promethius7820

    December 26, 2023 at 4:35 am

… All of this just reaks of nonsense… inflation gets conflated with debasement of currency… There are a certain number of bills in circulation, but they don't collect THOSE bills in taxes, instead they just print more. Debasement of currency is effectively a regressive tax. Its not that they dont know what's causing the "inflation", it is just that nobody had the courage to do what is necessary to fix the issue at its root. Get the capital back into circulation, the market will stabilize. Continue doing this, the boom busts will keep getting more erratic and more frequent. Dont need to he an economist to follow a trendline…

Fed won't hike to induce recession. They're basically done. But commodity prices have bottomed as no recession narrative is echoed. We will see how consumers and margins hold up. As joblessness increases in coming months while commodity prices rise.

This is on top of all the price hikes weve already seen in recent years. With everything going on in africa, the middle east and ukr oil prices are rising again but the only reason we arent feeling it is cuz Brandon keeps draining our strategic reserves. We need all the reserves we can get before heading into war with china and russia.

The price's of groceries should have gone up with inflation. But it's obvious that everyone is price gauging under the excuse of inflation and supply chain issues. Another excuse is corporations having to actually pay people a somewhat livable wage. Which hasn't kept up with the cost of living for 30 or 40 years. It all boils down to corporate greed
