My grandmother was 11 when this happened. She remembers it being all over the news. She told me about how the school she went to dismissed early when the news broke out.
Even though I personally was not alive then, I can't imagine all the pain his family and the people who were close to him had to deal with

Arlen Specter, Mark Lane and Penn Jones were all wrong. All three misled millions of people. In truth, the bullet found on a stretcher at Parkland Memorial Hospital had an uncertain origin. In truth, lots of Americans voiced dissenting opinions of the Warren Commission’s conclusions in 1966 without getting murdered. Paranoia was the wrong way to go in 1966. [1966 was the year for Merv Griffin Show episodes with Mark Lane and Penn Jones. They were separate episodes.] Arlen Specter’s conclusions about bullets also can turn your mind the wrong way. Read the 26 Warren volumes, not the book of conclusions that includes Mr. Specter’s conclusion. Learn to think for yourself. Evaluate evidence. You don’t need Mr. Specter, Mr. Lane or Mr. Jones.

I remember at 7.30 pm Television Programmes, in the U.K. were interrupted to announce The President's death. Not that it matters but it was a quiz programme called 'Take Your Pick'. He was the Great Hope, after the second world war, to negotiate a peace with, the emergent Soviet Union. His first great test was, of course, Cuba, and he was not found wanting. He saw down that bellerigent Russo-Ukraine Peasant Kruschev. The personal protection afforded to The President was lamentable. He and his brother had turned their larhe domestic guns on organised crime and it was they who murdered him. The Kennedy family came as close as possible to a 'Royal Family'. There collective contribution to American Life you should be proud of. On these occasons I usually end with a Latin Salutation. 'Kennedy Praesideas Deus Custodiat Te.'
