The White House and the Biden-Harris campaign are slamming Donald Trump over his remarks that immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” with critics likening his words to the rhetoric of WWII Germany.
The #Biden campaign said #Trump “parroted Adolf Hitler” while praising other dictators. The White House said “Echoing the grotesque rhetoric of fascists and violent white supremacists… [is] the opposite of everything we stand for as Americans.” MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan argues Trump has long been showing us his fascist and dictatorial tendencies, and it’s time we believe him when he shows us that a second Trump presidency would mean “the end of American democracy.”

The 500# gorilla in the livingroom is the simple fact that the United States west of the Mississippi River is inculcated with the ethic that "might makes right", while the US east of the river relies on institutions to address disparities. In this way, the population west of the river advocates for a more authoritarian government or no government at all. We Americans continue to be faced with the prospect that a fully one-half of our country actually Wants a dictatorship and is working to produce one under a White Christian Banner. 😢
