    The Fleur-de-Lys is a French symbol and is not necessarily intended to represent slavery. I suppose the people protesting the Fleur-de-Lys want France to ban it as well (given that French symbols and cities are pretty much covered with it).

    I'm in favour of banning the Confederate and Nazi flag but not the Fleur-de-Lys.

    That symbol has nothing to do with racism.  It is a common French symbol that predates Louisiana by hundreds of years.  We can't continue to cater to fucking morons with no clue about anything or their fake sense of offense.

    Black people owned slaves in New Orleans ! Honestly not to be mean but 98% of the black people who live in New Orleans had no clue as to what those statues were even  about !
