‘Twisted logic’: DOJ vet Katyal shreds Trump as fraud receipts blow up at trial
In a new filing, Donald Trump urged an appeals court to keep his gag order on pause in his civil fraud trial and accused the judge of “brazen” and “unmitigated” violations of the constitution. Former U.S. Solicitor General Neal Katyal calls the filing a “extension of the same twisted logic Donald Trump has always used to defend himself.” NYU law professor Melissa Murray also joins MSNBC’s Katie Phang to discuss.

The Wall Street Journal has a new two-part feature detailing what it describes as Europe’s ‘rupture’ with the United States following this week’s NATO Summit in Turkey. The Journal reports that President Trump’s tariff’s and threats to take Greenland has sparked a quote, “rebellion” amongst European leaders who are now drawing limits on so-called “flattery diplomacy.” The paper reports many leaders now view autonomy as the long-term goal,. Rather than a temporary measure, adding that even if leadership changes the era of relying on America so heavily had ended. The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the paper reported on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One. In some cases, the subpoenas were delivered by federal agents who showed up at reporters’ homes. The subpoenas seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday, and are an extraordinary escalation in President Trump’s efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations. NYT Investigative reporter Michael Schmidt joins Morning Joe with more on this developing story.

When Trump was the POTUS, we had low inflation, gas prices under $2 a gallon, a secured southern border, the U.S. Petroleum Reserves were filled, the U.S. was the #1 oil producer in the world, the U.S. wasn't at war, ISIS reign of terror came to an end, the U.S. military was strengthened, every working American received an income tax cut, 100s of job killing regulations were ended, everyone was able to find a job who wanted one, crime was down except for large cities controlled by Dems, moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, removed the U.S. from the costly Paris Climate Accords, Trump gave his $400k annual paycheck while POTUS to charity (i.e. $1.6 million), replaced the unfair NAFTA trade agreement with the USMCA trade agreement, chose three great constitutionalist Supreme Court justices whom helped end Roe v Wade, and when Trump was the POTUS, school children knew what a female was!!!!
