The phenomenon of voters of color increasing in Republican strongholds is analyzed by politics expert Fernand Amandi, who tells Tiffany Cross that shifting racial demographics alone will not increase Democrats’ influence nationwide.

While I understand Dems want to show their appreciation for black voters, speaking as if they are specifically supporting black voters, or ppl of color, is branding Dems as the party for ppl of color which can make some white voters feel the Dem. Party is working for ppl of color, not white voters. I wish Dem politicians would speak less of color and more of class. For example, if the politicians supports lower the income and wealth inequality, decreasing excessive force by policies, equal pay for equal equal work, etc, that’s going help ppl of color the most but it’s also going to help most everyone in the M&L class, minorities and whites on say the bottom half of the income scale, and minorities and women, respectively. If u call out a specific race, many whites will assume that means Dems will work for that race instead of all races in this class and take class. I’ve seen some black voters who want policies to help just black ppl, which is reverse systematic racism. Speaking Spanish looks like politicians trying too hard. While many Americans know more than one language, we r a predominantly English speaking country, most ppl know English, and it can make white ppl on the right feel like this is a country they don’t know or r feeling like they r in a different country. While there r a lot of black ppl/women who vote Dem, Dems need to stop saying it’s black ppl who put them in office bc they wouldn’t have won w/out the white, Asian, Jewish, Muslim, Latinos, etc combined. It takes all these voters to get Dems over the finish line. I also think minority groups might get greater support, more widespread support, and get less pushback from white supremacists if they fought/protested for a policy vs a race, like police brutality, against any race, vs BLM or stop AAPI hate vs just “stop hate crimes”, etc.

    Biggest problem of the US?
They see the world as: ME. And enemies who want to hurt me because I'm so awesome and have the perfect life.
That's the main issue here. Good luck fixing that.

Reform of the Republican Party starts with Fox News Who reported Antifa was the cause of the violence at the January 6 Insurrection at the Capitol. Fox News is the main platform of the Republican Party spreading conspiacies, lies, and disinformation for years before Trump. Fox news pushed the Trumps Big Election Lie and is being sued by Dominion and Smartmatic for defamation for false reporting of those companies.

The guest is naive to think the Ds simply need to adopt policies favored by the people "at large." The Rs win many elections by adopting policies favored by minorities, and the reason this can win is that two or more minorities can add up to a majority coalition. For example, a minority who want to ban abortions, plus a minority who want to deport immigrants of color, plus a minority who oppose background checks before gun sales, plus a minority who want to slash capital gains taxes and corporate taxes and Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid, etc, can add up to a majority. This can succeed only because we use primitive voting methods that count at most one majority, which neglect the fundamental democratics facts that preferences are relative and there's more than one head-to-head majority when there are more than two alternatives. All of the head-to-head majorities of the complete round robin tournament could be counted using a single round of voting in which each voter expresses his/her order of preference. (No primary elections would be needed to winnow the field.) This voting method would give candidates a strong incentive to adopt policies preferred by majorities, would defeat extremists, and would end political polarization. It would no longer be a two party system, but it would also not be a system of factions (like proportional representation, which empowers extremists) that the Founders feared.

Fear sadly is a bigger driver than optimism. BTW – if you come to a Democratic Party meeting there are few minorities. We are under no delusion that they are all Dems.

Tuckems is right from a certain point of view when talking about third world voters because in his miniscule world whatever brain he has left has to be off planet in which the entire Earth is inhabited by third world countries because he does not have a world other than depravity and racism.

Changing demographics don't really mean much politically for democrats when good amounts of hispanics, east indians and others identify as yt and were just as racist in their home countries as the republicans are here…
