Morgan Stanley’s Wilson Says Bear Market ‘Continuing’ Despite Tech Rally
Morgan Stanley Chief US Equity Strategist Mike Wilson says his firm’s bearish call for equity markets hasn’t changed despite the recent runup in big technology stocks. “This is what bear markets do. They are designed to fool you, confuse you, make you do things you don’t want to do,” he says on “Bloomberg Surveillance.”

Bloomberg understands Russia is preparing to escalate attacks on Ukraine after concluding that negotiations for a peace deal have reached a dead end. For now, Russia is said to be weighing an intensification of powerful conventional ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv, including the center of the capital, and infrastructure targets in other Ukrainian cities.
And Iran’s military said it reached a revenue-sharing agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran and Washington’s standoff over control of the crucial waterway continues.

This is the same guy that said the bear market would be over by the 1st or 2nd quarter and the S&P would go to 3200! So he keeps moving the goal posts hoping he will be right someday. Maybe he will be right someday, but a dead clock is also right 2 times a day.

Last of the true believers, keep the faith Mike. Essentially you’re correct, the vast majority of the equity market has been going sideways or down but the indices are getting propped up by eight to ten stocks. So does the rest of the market come up to meet the bubblicious AI stocks or does everything need a sharp correction to wash out all the mania? It’ll be interesting to see how things play out.

10 stocks making the indexes look bullish. Take them out, and the markets are flat to down for the year. Hang your portfolio on AI if you want. Many did that in the 1990's and 2000's with the internet. Problem was, it took another decade to finally realize the benefits of the internet being applied to everything. AI will do the same this time, but not in a year.

He has changed his stance. He mentioned at the start of the year that the market is gonna fall in the first half and if it doesn't then it is onward and upward. Now he says second half is gonna be choppy and downward. Why don't the hosts catch such guests taking uturns on TV trying to fool the investors..

When Wilson the Rainmaker identifies a bear market that means tech stocks are going to rise and liquidity will soon improve, after he said for months that just could not happen. Worth noting that "bear markets fooling and confusing people, making them do things they don't want to do", means getting more than 10% from the S&P since January. Time for the rainmaker to retire for good!
