Gilles Mendel takes a moment from the hubbub backstage to talk to FashionTV. “This Fall collection has been inspired by a Vogue editorial by Diane Vreeland in Barcelona,” he says. The line contains beautiful architecture and texture as well as a beautiful mosaic. There’s a mix of fabrics and a lot of surprise. “Furs are going to be amazing!” he exclaims. Australian model Nicole Trunfio is backstage in a tight ivory dress, beige heels and matching fur. “He uses such luxurious fabrics and its very elegant and timeless,” she says of the designer and the brand. Trunfio is a busy girl, traveling to Miami and Paris for modeling and working on a jewelry line that is out in March 2012.

There were some memorable pieces in here but maybe it is just me: couture fashion just doesn't seem "couture" anymore. One could find many of these pieces in a regular collection.

Haute couture was really close to ready-to -wear this year. I only really liked Maison Martin Margiela. Shaiperelli was good as well. excuse my spelling. I think we need designers like Galliano back. zanini should take the reigns and take these collections the artform it used to be.

This is considered fashion?…some of there are okay, but no one would actually wear them, and most are ugly or weird.
