I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how the model look. The industry will make a point of finding something to break their self esteem.
I'm not trying to placate the issue of racism or discrimination against curvy/bald/skinny etc. people but I'm sure if the model were size 0 and white with straight hair the fashion industry would probably say they are run-off-the-mill.

Omgosh I love this series. I modeled in the early 80's and when I went in to see Eileen Ford at a casting call, she told me I was too tall and had to lose 20 lbs. I was 6' and weighed 120 lbs. !! Now I'm 64, 5'11" and weigh 195 and feel gorgeous! Hooray to Vogue for doing this series. Bout time someone did..♥️

I'm glad that I see the industry changing slightly, but not enough what are these fashion designers making clothes for 2% of the population of the world? I'm sure yes the clothes look better on tall thin women but that's not the majority of clothing they're going to be selling. We come in all different shapes and sizes wake up fashion industry

Hey! Us regular folks have to deal with that ourselves, the only thing is, people don't pay us to have a pretty face.

Regardless of how pretty my face is, I don't get any money for that.

I also chose a profession that relies more than a pretty face, which is an auto mechanic job. So regardless of what my face looks like people still pay me $100 an hour as long as their car is fixed. They don't care how ugly I am.

When you put value on your looks, and people treat you based on your looks alone, what do you expect?

For people to accept and love you for something other than your looks? And they have to pay you while accepting you for who you are?

How about you accept that you are who you are and let them think whatever they want about you instead of making them accept you for who you are.

Complete nonsense. You went into modeling because you thought of yourself as beautiful and so did everyone else and you get paid for it. Then when people aren't liking it anymore, you cry. Were you crying when they did like you and paid you? No you didn't.

Rejection is something we all go through.

You have to accept that you will eventually not be physically attractive to people, which most of us have already got a head start as regular people.

It's like the women who feel insulted walking around dressed like trash thinking they look good but get cat called by men. They only feel insulted when it's a man they're not attracted to but if he was the man of her dreams, she would soak it up.

It's like you show everybody you're a piece of meat but tell people not to stare.

How about you wear boy clothes that are very loose on your body, and I can guarantee you that nobody will cat call you. Maybe even draw lipstick all over your face.

Nobody will bother giving you a second look.

Also, the tight clothing you think you look beautiful in and wear it because you like how good it looks isn't because you look good in it.

You dress that way because society thinks it looks good and you want to fit in or look good. Women used to dress in extravagant dresses, very stylish and beautiful. If a modern woman with her trash clothing appeared in the 1800s, all other women would not see someone beautiful but a women who dresses like trash

Not one East Asian in this whole episode about discrimination speaks volumes. We always get the slanty eye or oriental doll look when we do. It’s as if it’s hard to accept what Asians look like if they don’t resemble the ones on the yellow peril posters back in the day.

Curly hair is awesome.. I have straight hair but I admire people with curly hair a lot. My friend has curly hair and I would advice not to change it just because you are insecure. OWN IT… Straighten it up or do haircolor or any changes as you wish. But never feel insecure for any features. We were never moulded to be perfect when we were born.

Older models too. All shapes all sizes….. But what about age?? Age is never addressed. The older woman is still entitled to equality regardless of shape size or skin colour. They do not have representation on the runway or in magazines…… Or ON THE COVER of magazines. They follow fashion too… Buy and read your magazines. But no one thinks about age as diversity. Its sad.

As a photographer/teacher since the 70s, there was always a wonder in me, "Why only one kind of model?" Still, I wonder why so few different faces? I spent my career working with mostly foreign people and heard them say what a tough world they had never fitted in. I liked all of them.

Live at Met Gala 2026 With Vogue

Presented by Colgate, eBay, Eli Lilly and Company & On.

Watch Ashley Graham, La La Anthony, and Cara Delevingne talk viewers through all the fun and fashion at the 2026 Met Gala, with Emma Chamberlain as Vogue’s Red Carpet Correspondent.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, “Costume Art.” The show—set to inaugurate the Met’s new, nearly 12,000-square-foot Condé M. Nast Galleries—will consider depictions of the dressed body from across the Met’s curatorial departments, pairing garments with art objects spanning some 5,000 years.

Objects in “Costume Art” will be divided into a “series of thematic body types,” ranging from the “Naked Body” and the “Classical Body”—both of which are well represented within the museum’s collection—to those, like the “Pregnant Body” and the “Aging Body,” that have more often been overlooked.

Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour will co-chair the 2026 Met Gala.

Continuing a tradition from years past, the 2026 Met Gala will also have a host committee. That group will include committee co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, along with members Adut Akech, Angela Bassett, Sinéad Burke, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Alex Consani, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Rebecca Hall, LISA, Chloe Malle, Aimee Mullins, Amy Sherald, Tschabalala Self, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Anna Weyant, Lauren Wasser, A’ja Wilson, Chase Sui Wonders, and Yseult. Additionally, as the lead sponsors for the 2026 gala and exhibition, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos will serve as honorary chairs.
