I remember when this happened. He got a standing ovation from me as I watched him make that plane water ski, then float. What a kickass pilot! Best pilot on the planet, you big ole hero you! ❤

What he is so gracious about is that he had a whole life, family, background, etc, but is defined by this one event, and he never seems to act annoyed by that, by everyone only recognizing that one thing, over and over and over, for years now. I hope he gets to have a normal life in his town.

I was amazed at Sully's Voice. He told the Controller he was going to put it down in the Hudson with a calm demeanor, as if to say. I'll take a Coke with a little extra ice. My God the man was going to "Crash" A Great American and a Great Veteran. All America can be very proud of him !

It's absolutely disgusting that these pilots were even asked why they landed in the river. Common sense just doesn't apply when people are more concerned about the aircraft than all the people on board does it. Makes one wonder which part of no thrust do these morons not understand. If they could just turn around with no engine power and go back to where they took off, planes wouldn't need jet engines at all.

14 years and I still get chills. Big up to Captain Scully for giving praises where it is due. We need more like him. They will never ever forget this.
