Don Lemon: The Chauvin Trial Is ‘Deeply Traumatic, Emotional, We Are Reliving It Over And Over’

Published

on

In his new book “This Is the Fire: What I Say to My Friends About Racism,” Don Lemon writes about George Floyd’s death in deeply personal terms. On the Chauvin Trial, Lemon says “It has been deeply emotional, it’s traumatic, and I think we all are reliving it over and over and over every time we see that video. The video’s the reason we’re here as a nation.” Aired on 04/10/2021.

Dude, this man is the definition of verdict without a trail. He goes against, “innocent until proven guilty”.

This dude literally thinks he is the judge and jury.

He’s the very definition of emotions before facts. Would place every innocent being in jail, by judging without facts

Stop. The British were masters at developing a system that would allow them to sustained an lucrative generational business model built on racism and conquest every where they traveled.

Everytime. It mentally and physically hurts. I find myself feeling even new hurtful feelings almost each time I see it over and over … it should never be normal to see a white cop killing a man of color, ever … someone should have stopped him … if that were a white baby, people would have lined up to stop that killer! Mr. Floyds life had that same value. This has to stop. Yes … I am WHITE and I would have helped.

Chauvin had his hands in his pockets FFS.

The only way that America will get past bad policing and systematic ignorance is to talk about it.. PERIOD. So u guys that don't want black people to make a big deal about something that exists for years. Too bad for u. And these people have white partner so why would they have a bad motive.its about time for america and society to change . ..

White folks can't escape being racist, being it is part of the heritage of this nation. But the worst thing about racism is that it can have black people look at other black people through blue eyed lenses…

What we need to understand is that this terrible event happened in one of our most progressive cities. Minneapolis is a strong Democrat city and the mayor and the council are up-and-coming Democrat party members. The mayor and the city Council control all the city government agencies to include street department, water, electrical, sewer, fire and police departments. The Mayor and the City Council hire the chief of police, The mayor and city Council negotiate police union contracts and these contracts are signed by the Mayor.
After the Floyd death, I stated several times that the mayor and city Council should resign. They have ultimate responsibility over the management of the police department, they should resign.
We have seen Black people killed at the hands of police in our most progressive cities to include New York City, Ferguson, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Louisville and Kenosha. We hear cries of systemic racism coming from the city is also. A UC Berkeley researcher identified the conditions that existed on the slave plantation in the antebellum South and identify the same conditions that exist in our minority population centers in our most progressive cities.
The cartoon character Pogo ground by Walt Kelly famously said, “we have met the enemy and he is us.”
