How LVMH Became A $500 Billion Luxury Powerhouse
The luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton controls 75 Maisons, or brands, including Tiffany & Co., Sephora, Dior, Givenchy and TAG Heuer. At the helm of the luxury empire is the richest person in the world, Bernard Arnault, whose five children all hold senior executive roles within the company. With a keen eye for luxury, ruthless negotiation skills and an effective business acumen, Arnault has acquired some of the biggest names in the world. Most recently, in 2021, the company bought Tiffany & Co. for $15.8 billion after a bitter dispute about price due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and to salvage the luxury sector’s biggest-ever deal. Though most companies struggled during the pandemic, LVMH’s stock steadily rose while it continued to report record revenue year after year as wealthy consumers participated in what McKinsey & Co. called “revenge spending.” For the first quarter of 2023, LVMH reported a 17% increase in revenue from the same period a year earlier. The Asia market, which had seen the most significant drop due to Covid-19 closures, had a 14% rise in revenue after an 8% decrease in the fourth quarter of 2022. In April 2023, LVMH became the first European company to surpass $500 billion in market value.

Meta Is Facing Its Biggest Trial Yet, And Its Future Hangs In The Balance
Meta is facing what could be its most consequential trial yet, as 29 state attorneys general accuse the tech giant of knowingly designing Facebook and Instagram to addict children and misleading the public about the risks. The states are seeking civil penalties that could approach $200 billion and changes to core features like infinite scroll and autoplay, while Meta says the claims are unsubstantiated and that it has built strong protections for teens. The outcome of the federal trial could reshape how social media platforms are designed and open the door to greater liability for companies across the industry. CNBC’s Julia Boorstin examines why this case could become Big Tech’s “Big Tobacco” moment, and what a loss could mean for Meta’s business and the future of social media.

They are also not saying that their staff is having nervous breakdown and major health concerns because of the mistreatment, people that work out of the call center get it the worst, clients are allowed to severely abuse DCA and SA to the point that people are having heart palpitations and other health issues.

Their sales people earn 1 cent on a coated canvas bag, that is priced in the thousands … there once was a sales person that sold a close to a hundred thousand dollar pool table to a famous boxer but only made 24$ commission on the sale, then had to give up the sale to a private shopper because the Digital associate was of lower standing
Let’s not get into the quality or the amount of stolen goods from the shipping company that they use and then refuse to refund the clients so they have to literally sue LVMH to get their money back

Some luxury items are really good and worth the money but most aren't. It goes to show human flaw: judging people quickly and desiring to impress/ show off to others. Sadly, in this day and age, people don't think much when they buy stuff. Better life quality and women empowerment allow LMVH to thrive and take your salaries. The moment that we are at war or global catastrophe, those designer bags and shoes go out of the windows. Trust me, no body care and everyone will try to get all the cheap food in grocery stores if there's any left.

Buying up other established brands is not genius. It’s a monopoly. Remember every time you see the “latest” riches person in the world, you are seeing a person who obtained that level of wealth by depriving others of their fair share of the profits and earnings. If you can’t run the business by yourself, then you shouldn’t receive the lion share of the earnings.

In the past 3 years, the Biden^wealthy corporations had been buying all single house, now the FED decision or policy is to keep home prices permanently high for Biden’s friends to double their money in the home sale. The only problem is that normal worker cannot effort to buy a home, unless worker’s salaries double.

I don’t understand why people in the comments are so down on Louis Vuitton when every company in the world practice the same thing for larger profits. Apple and Nike for example create cheaply made products yet charge $100s-$1000s for them. At the end of the day it’s all business and capitalism whether you like it or not and it’s been going on for centuries. At least Louis Vuitton products are made in France and not a sweatshop in China 🤷♂️

Currently, things are a little strange. Even though the US dollar is worth less when used to buy products, it is still rising in value overall. Assets like stocks, housing, cryptocurrencies, and precious metals aren't performing as well as they could because individuals are putting their money in dollars as a form of security. My $320,000 in savings worries me since it will deteriorate soon. How should I handle my money to keep it safe?

January 2, 2024 at 2:33 pm
?? So how do Mr. Arnaults profits continue to increase, when the global economy sinks further and millions more become unemployed and homeless… the fact that he has opened more stores is the answer and where he has opened them is the secret. You have to consider that Ch1na and Ind1a have been the place where greedy North American and European corporations have gone to manufacture goods VERY cheap, for decades, taking advantage of an endless supply of cheap S1AVE labor, (Ch1na has 1.5 billion people, and 1ndia has 2 billion people, the majority are desperately poor and work for a dollar a day in horrific, hot, loud, crowded, stinking factories that constantly dump hundreds of billions of tons of toxic waste into the environment… compared to back home where corporations were forced to pay generous union wages and forced to make factories safe and they were not allowed to pollute the environment.) After decades of these factory owners providing cheap S1AVE labor to the world, it has created a new global elite, as hundreds of new billionaires have suddenly emerged with financial, political and military control. There are now hundreds of millions of new billionaires with family members that constantly travel the world, flaunting their new wealth and power, buying the most expensive items available. Finally being allowed permission to open luxury stores in Ch1na and India was a windfall for Mr. Arnault. There are now more billionaires in Ch1na and 1ndia, than in the rest of the world combined, and Mr. Arnault will continue to profit as the new global elite exploit the masses for their own financial gain.
