That's freaking animal abuse! It would be one thing if this shark had just attacked somebody or something like that but he literally just pulled this shark out of the water up onto the beach to show off his "shark wrestling" skills.
    Disgusting. 🤬

Fully intended to write something shitty about this guy. The fact that he let it go is the ONLY reason I didn't. Not sure when people will learn to leave wildlife alone. Maybe when there isn't any left to mess with..

  35. @momoniji6439

    January 2, 2024 at 5:37 pm

To all the uneducated people in the comments, this is called "Shark Fishing" all he was doing is the standard procedure when you catch a shark from lane nothing about this is special, the youtube video or article is misleading.

  36. @nikcastle6943

    January 2, 2024 at 5:37 pm

Shark fatally bites human – “Oh, it’s just being a shark”
Human drags big fish (shark) – “leave the shark alone”
Also “Human” – known as the top apex predator of this planet. Has been known for thousands of years to rape, pillage, and burn their own kind based off of differences in beliefs and want of sovereignty. Presently keeps thousands of animal farms to feed the billions of present day people; livestock that will never see the light of day (some, like chickens)*.
In total, humans are naturally violent beings, and like to hold dominion over their own kind and nature. Since we’ve existed, this planet has known no years without some type of war happening somewhere on this planet, not to mention the violent crimes against humanity that have been committed daily since the dawn of our existence.**
So if a shark is curious about how a human may taste (whether it thought it was a seal, or mistook the human for its usual food), why should we be surprised to see a human be curious and wrestle a shark out of the water? Humans are known as conquerors, for some, it’s naturally in their nature to yearn about conquering nature, just like their ancestors may have. The Great White Hunter is what it’s termed. These were professional big game hunters, usually of European or North American descent that went about hunting their prey in continents like Africa during the first half of the 20th century.
Back in those days, it was customary to kill the prey and keep whole or apart of it as a trophy. This guy, as he mentioned himself, is a fisherman, which is a man who hunts for fish (your probably thinking “yeah no duh”, but some of y’all are ignorant of not correlating how a fisherman is technically a hunter too). Rather than catching and killing the prey, he catches it, takes a photo of it, then releases it. Now, imagine if instead after the photo, he decides to keep his sharp toothed prey as a trophy, or shark meat for exotic tacos later. Oh, we’d have a pretty different headline on our hands, wouldn’t we?

*I brought the livestock thing up because this shark (despite its inconvenience with guy) ultimately has a better life than the animals that are raised to be our food.

**Why should we let shark nature slide and bash human nature? Why? Because we’re supposed to know better? We’re technically animals too. Violent animals as well. We just have evolved higher levels of thinking and processing the world around us, but at the end of the day, we’re pack animals. Simply put.
