At just 23 years old, Dutch model Imaan Hammam has already been modelling for a decade – discovered at the age of 13 in Amsterdam Central Station. Since then, she’s racked up 10 Vogue covers: including her debut for US Vogue’s September 2014 issue, alongside Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse, Edie Campbell, Fei Fei Sun, Vanessa Axente and Andreea Diaconu – dubbed “The Instagirls” at the time. She’s also fronted campaigns and walked the runway for the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Hermès, Proenza Schouler, Chanel and Valentino; working with fashion photographers from Steven Meisel to Annie Leibovitz, Mario Sorrenti and Inez and Vinoodh.
And when she’s not with her pre-runway/red-carpet glam squad – for these awards, it’s British-Afghan makeup artist Hila Karmand, and New-York based, German-born (with French-African roots) hair stylist, Hos Hounkpatin – Imaan campaigns for other girls who might want to follow her path someday. Born to an Egyptian father and Moroccan mother, she’s been vocal on issues surrounding diversity in fashion and in September this year, she became an ambassador for the non-profit She’s The First, whose mission is to eliminate gender inequality by empowering young girls through education.
Her best fashion advice? “Always wear shoes that are comfortable.” And, get the makeup artist to give you a massage and mask as standard: “We’re getting a neck mask – because, you know that neck gotta look good!”

The latinx celebrity canon: I would like a refund.
Rodrigo does Disney quirky teen not yet adult material. All angst, all apolitical. You could argue her songs are limited to age and writing about young heartbreak subliminal comments about larger social issues. But like even with the more mature latinx celebrities—are overtly sexualized are reduced to 2d and are their body. Sofia Vegera and her weird I’m a mistress to my husband. Like y? If the success rate is just to push product/ productize did you even ask women would they buy her stuff? Like is this your teen latinx Avon queen? Watching cloud formations are more interesting.
