Planned Parenthood founded by Margaret Sanger because she believed in eugenics and wanted to rid the world of the unfit (blacks, disabled, poor, etc…) Once again Democrats supporting an institution of racism and say that Democrats are against racism and ignore their Party's history of Racism but tear down statues of slave owners but don't see that their Party is the Party of slavery, segregation, the trail of tears, and Japanese internment camps.

If the President can ask a Supreme Court Justice to step up, the President should be empowered to ask them to step down…for cause.

The conservative court says that they want the court to be solely focused on the law.
Most of the court's errors have been when they took on the role of historians, linguists or scientists. Take those roles from the supreme court and create a supreme body patterned after the courts for nonpartisan nonjudicial decisions.

If we garner the political power to pass something like the Women's Health Protection Act and it is challenged in court, and goes to the SCOTUS and they declare the law unconstitutional for some reason, we will have no choice, but to rework the court by increasing the number of justices.

  20. @AnitaHiscock

    January 3, 2024 at 8:03 am

In theory, a US President could propose expanding the number of Supreme Court Justices and advocate for it. However, since the power to pass laws resides with Congress, the President would ultimately need the support and cooperation of BOTH houses of Congress to pass such legislation.

Expanding the number of Supreme Court Justices is a significant decision with far-reaching implications, and historically, changes to the Court's size have been relatively rare. It would likely require substantial political consensus and support from both the Democrat party and the Republican party to successfully pass such legislation.

What will change this is restrictive states not having OBGYN and gynecology staff support so that women in their state are left with no options. It is strange that these same ppl who hate for women to have contraceptive and reproductive choices so much so that they are forced to have babies, also don't want women to have paid leave, child care options, universal healthcare, etc. If you care about women having healthy babies, you should care about their options after they give birth, too.

Rep. Dean: Trump ‘Lit The Match’ That Caused The Capitol Hill Riots | Andrea Mitchell | MSNBC

Published

Congresswoman and impeachment manager Madeleine Dean (D-PA) tells Andrea Mitchell that President Trump “lit the match,” causing the riots at the Capitol on January 6. Dean also pushed back on the notion that impeaching a former president is unconstitutional. “And we do know, number one, it is constitutional because the text of the constitution is not just about removal as a result of impeachment and conviction but also future disqualification. The framers knew very much the threat of mobs and demagogues,” she said. Aired on 01/25/2021.

Sen. Murphy: Proposed Relief Bill ‘Could Get Us Through What Could Be A Very Hard And Deadly Winter’

Published

By

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss the proposal of a $908 billion COVID relief bill by a bipartisan group of senators as 14 million Americans could lose unemployment aid by the end of December. Sen. Murphy says, “This amount of money could get us through what could be a very hard and deadly winter. This isn’t big enough to be able to get us to the point where the entire country is vaccinated. But it might be enough to make sure that millions of Americans don’t go hungry, don’t starve, don’t die out on the streets this winter when their jobless benefits expire and when protections for evictions expire.” Aired on 12/01/2020.

‘ERODING our democracy’: Morning Joe reacts to SHOCKING NYT Editorial on Trump’s election meddling

Published

on

By

The New York Times editorial board is out with a new series tracking 12 categories of democratic erosion in the United States, highlighting the “worrisome steps” it says President Trump has taken toward undermining American democracy. Measuring on a scale from zero to 10 — with zero representing a strong, though imperfect, democracy and 10 representing a true autocracy — the board has moved one category, “manipulating the law to stay in power,” up to Level 3. The Morning Joe panel breaks down the ominous warnings from the piece as the country heads toward the November midterms and the 2028 election.
