I love how even reasonably minded Americans (USA specifically) think that the USA is some golden beacon for society as a whole to emulate and envy. I’ve always wondered what kind of propaganda is needed for almost an entire population of a country to think all other nations are jealous of them, that they think they’re “the only country with freedom and democracy”, that they’re the only nation that has laws, that they’re the “greatest country on earth”. It goes beyond “patriotism”, and fully embrace nationalism. “It can’t happen here”; who do you think Hitler praised first racist and segregationist laws?? It what the USA!
