   Only the Republicans have been under Federal Court supervision for 35 years, since the 1982 Consent Decree, because of voter suppression and intimidation.

    I'm sorry, but it is not half the country that buys into this insane election fraud theory. Far less than half the country voted for Trump, and even amongst those who voted for him, many still have maintained their grasp on reality. I know three Trump voters, among my friends, and none of them think there was anything wrong with the election. Sure, it looks like half the people online are total lunatics, but many of those espousing the most deranged conspiracy theories are actually foreign trolls and bots. If social media companies required identity verification, you'd see a lot fewer of the insane "release the kraken" or 'vaccines have microchips' comments.

    Wrong on number 1. Many on the left didn't consider Trump to be a legitimate president and that didn't stop him from doing his misdeeds. F**k those on the right who question the election result. Biden will be the president and that's that.

    The biggest threat to the world is the MSM and Big Tech that censor anything they do not agree with. It is the end of free speech. These companies only let the public see what they want them to see and cancel anyone that has an opinion different from their own.

    Americans have always over rated the stability of their democracy. Herbert Hoover created such a stir after the 1932 election that in 1933 the Twentieth Amendment was passed that moved the inaugeration date up to January 20.

    Joseph McCarthy's Red Scare was evolving into examining books like those of Thoreau and Melville in American foreign libraries; until Eisenhower leaked damaging information that helped end McCarthy's reign of terror.

    On the State level Huey Long, George Wallace and others did their best to subvert democracy.

    As a European, I've seen America pull out of international agreements like the Iran deal and the Paris agreement. When the former was signed, the big question was whether we could have confidence in Iran to comply with it; now America is the big question mark. Even if the new administration does all the right things, what's stopping America from electing Alex Jones or Batman and deciding to upend everything again?

    This Trump phenomena of conspiracy theories, political lies, authoritarian tendency toward a nationalism, etc are not unique or new. They're more common around the world. Now because Trump is the president of the United States his antics are motivating these people more power. Thing is that they make more clicks when they tweet or put on their YouTube's when they repeat his lies and conspiracy theories. I've no idea how this will turn out after he leaves the White House, though.
