If you re not familiar with Black history, you might not know it, but it is part of a college level American History course. Guess DJTrump missed class that day.or maybe that is why we can't see his college report cards. He demanded to see Obama's–bet Obama knew.

Believe it or not, Trump actually has a point there. A lot of people don't know what Juneteenth is. They never taught about it in my school (at least, back in the 80s and 90s when I was in school). Until recent events I never even knew what it was. Any time over the years it was in a headline of the local newspaper I thought it was referring to some small local festival and I never read the articles due to lack of interest in the local festivals. So because of his blithering idiocy of originally planning his rally on June 19th and all the ensuing outrage, yeah, in a way he did make it known to a lot of people. But then, that's like the 1960s governor of Alabama making Selma famous to the rest of the country because of his response to the civil rights marches..

Texas… what a place. Taken by force and war from Mexico. And then after losing the civil war they break the law again and keep human beings as slaves for two more years. What a proud legacy. How many confederate statues are there?

  15. @jeffjacobsen624

    January 7, 2024 at 5:03 am

It’s taken America 155 years to memorialize Juneteenth! What part of not jumping for joy and dancing a jig for you don’t you understand!? Y’all just gonna whitewash it! And we’re still marching, begging you to recognize that a black life matters! Tokens all just tokens! Now, I’m gonna sit back and relax while white folks go on and fetch me my reparations too! I’m gonna need that posthaste! Thank you very much!

Nobody ever heard of it? You are the nobody.

  24. @thomasreedy4751

    January 7, 2024 at 5:03 am

To be clear, my state has recognized Juneteenth as a state holiday since 2005.

I didn't know about that until yesterday via a company e-mail.

So really, I don't think the President is responsible for his ignorance as much as the media has been for ignoring the day themselves.

Democrats have been as much of a perpetrator of racism as Republicans. While giving black people a voice in spite of white bias inorder to gain voter support is better then not, Democrats aren't perfect.

This catch 22 your a racist Republican should stop. Not because it isn't true, but because in many cases you are just as bad.

‘ERODING our democracy’: Morning Joe reacts to SHOCKING NYT Editorial on Trump’s election meddling

Published

on

By

The New York Times editorial board is out with a new series tracking 12 categories of democratic erosion in the United States, highlighting the “worrisome steps” it says President Trump has taken toward undermining American democracy. Measuring on a scale from zero to 10 — with zero representing a strong, though imperfect, democracy and 10 representing a true autocracy — the board has moved one category, “manipulating the law to stay in power,” up to Level 3. The Morning Joe panel breaks down the ominous warnings from the piece as the country heads toward the November midterms and the 2028 election.
