‘Trump is afraid of the Black vote’: Rep. Meeks blasts Trump’s attacks on voting
Donald Trump’s DOJ filed an appeal today, asking a federal appeals court to overturn a ruling blocking key parts of his executive order targeting mail-in ballots—with ballots set to go out in just days. The legal fight comes as thousands marched in Washington, D.C. demanding stronger protections for voting rights. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) joins MS NOW’s Jonathan Capehart to discuss the fight over voting rights and why he believes Trump is afraid of Black voting power.

If at First You DON’T (Constitutionally) SUCCEED, Try TRY AGAIN
According to Mary and Andrew, recent moves by President Trump’s administration have been following a pattern: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” The co-hosts begin by breaking down the flurry of news surrounding mail voting, starting with Monday afternoon’s decision by the Supreme Court to allow President Trump’s executive order curtailing mail voting to proceed, though not issuing a decision on the merits of the order. They discuss that decision in conjunction with the Postal Service’s announcement on Friday for a final rule that would comply with the executive order, a move that Andrew calls a proxy for the government to “have the Postal Service act in a way that has a clearly disproportionate impact on certain voters.”
Then, a conversation about birthright citizenship after a motion was filed yesterday rejecting Trump’s executive orders that attempt to limit the legal principle. Plus, an analysis of the Second and Ninth Circuit Court’s rulings disqualifying U.S. Attorneys that were improperly appointed by Trump and a quick nod to Minnesota suing the governor of Texas for not extraditing an ICE agent accused of shooting a man in Minneapolis.
Tune in next week as we switch to Wednesday morning releases — and video editions of Main Justice available on YouTube.

The U.S should cut all ties with Saudi Arabia as they are the world's biggest funders and exporters of terrorism and they are also one of the world's worst abusers of human rights, if they didn't have all that oil and money the U.S probably would have invaded them or created a situation were regime change was possible but because of all the oil and money that they have the U.S has let them get away with killing jamal Khashoggi and funding parts of 9/11 if that was any other country they would have been history.

Medhi, instead of finding fault, you should ask the gentlemen who were POTUS when the Saudis started to CALL THE SHOTS. Why? Because Nixon, Raegan, and Bush wanted the $100 Billion arms sales to Saudi Arabia to continue indefinitely. Look at what Trump and his family got out of the Saudis by attacking an Ali, Qatar. The Republicans are great at SELLING THEIR SOULS FOR THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.

The Saudi has been playing America in their palm. It’s as if they are Americans master. If Americans will continue relying on fossil fuels, Americans have no choice but be subservient to the Saudi.
@otobotrecords
January 7, 2024 at 9:35 pm
Well these guys certainly make it seem as if the US has bigger leverage in this current situation. What they don't care to mention though is the importance of the petro-dollar peg for the US. If the Saudis give up on the petro-dollar, the USD will tank 〽 big time, devaluing also the dollar debts of other countries, most of which seem to be looking forward to the end of the dollar's world reserve currency status. Those other countries too would drop the dollar like a hot potato.

What can one say, other than a sucker is born every minute. Saudi Arabia wants protection from the US, then turns around, takes Vladimir Putin’s side, giving the middle finger to the US.
Let’s not forget, 14 out of 19 jihadists who attacked American on 9/11 were Saudi citizens.
@dr.alahdal

It is just childish thinking the 3000 American super soldiers are protecting Saudi that is bigger than half of European continent. And our air defence system Patriot batteries are Owned and operated By Saudi its ammunition can be reverse engineered if pushed to it. With other air defence systems that are locally produced fully and some partly by Saudi with other friends like South Korea, China, Russia, South Africa, and European countries. Already trying to help Saudis.
