I don't think people not from Florida (or other places with a healthy population of gators) understand just how common they are. They're in retention ponds, ditches, lakes, rivers, lagoons; anywhere a gator can live there's like a 90% chance there is at least one gator in there. People swim in waters with them anyway. A gator attack is incredibly rare when you consider how many gators are in the waters people swim in. I'm not saying you should swim with them but the chance of them attacking you, especially one that was sunbathing, is so incredibly low that it's almost not worth freaking out about. You're much more likely to die in a car accident on the way to Florida than to be attacked by a gator.

Almost all of Russia’s 83 regions are seeing gasoline shortages or reported disruptions to supply, according to a CNN analysis, with many gas stations imposing rationing as the Russian government races to get ahead of a ferocious campaign of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting its refineries.

The fuel crisis, which escalated first in Russian-controlled Crimea and prompted a state of emergency and a full ban on fuel sales to ordinary people on June 21, is now reaching across Russia’s 11 time zones.

CNN’s Clare Sebastian details the frustration at the pump in Russia, and CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout speaks with the head of Chatham House Ukraine Forum, Orysia Lutsevych, about the possible decay of Russia’s energy superpower status.

Also, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten looks at Russian President Vladimir Putin’s approval among Russian citizens and sagging public support of President Trump’s ability to handle the Ukraine war.

Until Thursday morning, hundreds of thousands of Haitians were legally living and working in the United States, along with thousands of Syrians. Now, their work permits are set to expire and their deportation protections will be terminated, throwing them in legal limbo.

The abrupt change in fate stems from the Supreme Court decision which found that the Department of Homeland Security had broad discretion in determining when to extend or terminate a form of humanitarian relief known as Temporary Protected Status.
