GOP leaders have endorsed Donald Trump despite his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election. The alleged Jan. 6 insurrection co-conspirators who are still in Congress, such as Rep. Scott Perry, plus the latest in Trump’s legal battles impacting his presidential eligibility, are discussed by Benjamin Wittes, editor-in-chief of Lawfare and senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

“Just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen.” – Trump to the DOJ. That’s the smoking gun of conspirators in Congress.

Scott Perry should be removed from the ballot. If he isn't removed, he should be voted out of office.

The tapes from Jan 6 were kept from the public so the media could continue to lie and say it was an insurrection. Nobody has been charged with insurrection let alone convicted. The protesters were barely guilty of simple trespassing. The only person that should have been jailed was the cop that murdered an unarmed woman. It is utterly dishonest and shameful to call Jan 6 an insurrection.

⚖️ WE WANT TRUMP HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE 91 FELONIES THAT CARRY MULTIPLE LIFE SENTENCES THEN THERE IS NO NEED TO HAVE HIM ON ANY BALLOT OR NEWS AGAIN.🦨🗑️

Is it the Office of the President of the United States, or is it the position of all power and no responsibility in the United States?
Call me a bluff old traditionalist, but the latter is what the Rethugs want, and it's horse feathers.

Everything Joy presents is accurate. She also conveniently omits the fact that her employer has spent decades presenting the "both sides" false equivalency that paved the road for the MAGA movement. When their "journalists" repeatedly went to that rural country diner during the primaries and interviewed those FOX inspired self-perceived victims. Unapologetically presenting the rural mimicry of FOX propaganda and its absence of truth as a valid political discussion. That is because her employers are sympathetic oligarchs that put profit above Democracy. How else can you explain giving Joe Scarborough a featured platform?

This does nothing to bolster my belief in our government's willingness to protect our democracy. Why wait years to hold certain congress members accountable?

  23. @jimlutz8092

    January 7, 2024 at 1:57 am

This is and has always been a RICO case not being brought by the Federal DOJ. It involves many more than the 19 people indicted in the Georgia RICO case. Names like Perry, Cruz, Hawley, Gosar, Gohmert, Greene, Gaetz, Jordan, Johnson & Johnson (Louisianna's and Wisconsin's) and many, many more. In a world of real Constitutional justice, the bulk of the Republican party would be removed from office and then prosecuted collectively in a Federal RICO case.

  24. @dream2be611

    January 7, 2024 at 1:57 am

Yep the worst of the insurrectionist are in congress. That is a true statement and the DOJ knows it. Lock them up.

We have over a 100 Republicans on board with our plan ! Peter Navarro So we clearly have over 100 traitors and insurrectionists in Congress that should be held accountable and be prosecuted for their participation in a premeditated coup attempt !

There was no insurrection. Get over it Joyless.

  29. @starbucksgirl652

    January 7, 2024 at 1:57 am

I would love to see the congress people that helped in aided in Jan 6. I think that those people should NOT be able to serve in any government job. Who took a group on a tour through the capital, who knew what was going to happen, and why did it take the president waited hours to simply say to his followers to go home. We have never had a president that had no ethical standards, lie to everyone about the small things as well as the big things, and tried everything he could to overturn the election.

  30. @octosalias5785

    January 7, 2024 at 1:57 am

Uh yeah thats what happens when no one does anything about it

  31. @jimhutchinson4623

I wish GA would set a trial date for the co-conspirators.

How many years does it take to get all the members of Congress that tried to overthrow the election?
