Retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore, a Democratic candidate for Congress, and Rep. ‘If trauma has a seated position, that was it.’: Lisa Rubin on E. Jean Carroll in the courtroom
NBC’s Lisa Rubin discusses E. Jean Carroll’s posture as she shares the courtroom for a second defamation trial with the defendant and her attacker, former president Donald Trump. Rubin says Carroll sat “almost pitched forward as if to inch herself as many millimeters away from him as she could. If trauma had a seated position, that was it.”

Ayman on how Trump’s policies align with Project 2025
President Trump, Vice President Vance and their allies disavowed the conservative Project 2025 during the election, seeing the conservative transition plan and policy blueprint as a liability after Democrats used it to attack the Trump campaign. But as Ayman Mohyeldin reports, just about a month into Trump’s second term as president and his administration’s policies seem awfully familiar.

Trump’s ‘twisted’ political strategy
Donald Trump appeared in court today in yet another E. Jean Carroll defamation trial. According to Joe Scarborough, “Donald Trump is there because that’s the best political fuel he can get… He’s going into these courtrooms because of the grand spectacle.” NBC News’ entrance polls from last night’s Iowa Caucus found that 65% of Iowa Republicans say they still deem President Donald Trump fit to be president even if convicted of a crime.

"The more propaganda we push on people and constantly screech 'BUT VENEZUELA' at people the less favorable they are to view socialism" is a more accurate statement. MSNBC still Republican sholls.

America, You have to stop treating "socialism" as a dirty word, You have to look at things like, access to 'medical treatment for all' and a 'level playing field for education' and the concept of 'a living wage for all' as opposed to the population being held to ransom by the "rich and powerful" for their own ends ??? The "rich and powerful" control health, education and access to a living wage through the use of the "Fear tactics" of telling You that You are too 'stupid' to decide Your own destiny, because to demand these basic human rights would be to open the door to some sort of communistsocialist takeover, when in fact it would only limit their own control they have of Your current life !!!!!!! The "Rabid Right" is terrified of these basic human rights being given to the citizens of Your country as it will diminish their power over You and who knows, it may even lead to the standard of living and the standard of education across the whole country being raised to such an extent that they are no longer able to 'dictate' to You how You should live and define You own future ?????? When the "Rich and Powerful" tell You it is wrong to want affordable healthcare for all , equal opportunity education and a living wage, without 'tips', and then proceed to tell You it will "bankrupt" the country, You may want to do some 'critical research' into how other countries in the developed world have fared with these most basic of human rights and to ask Yourself, WHY are they pressing so hard to dissuade You from striving for these 'attainable' standards ???? Could it be that they will not only lose some power over You, but, they will lose their access to the billions of $ollars they reap from their fellow Americans through the monopolies they control in the Health and Education sectors and their "bottom line" will suffer in the short term through having to pay a living wage ????? Maybe, just maybe they are not acting in Your best interests and they never have been acting in Your best interests, but instead have been looking after themselves the whole time ????? It's hard to believe, but it may be worthwhile for You to do a little "critical investigating" into whether or not they are acting in YOUR best interests or just trying to 'scare' You to keep their "Status Quo" intact ??????? America, 2020 is an opportunity for You to put a stop the the "excesses" of the "Super Rich" and try to get some of the fabulous wealth of Your country spread a little more evenly around Your country, the republicans will never allow this to happen, they follow the 'dicta' that you "never underestimate the stupidity of the voting public", and that the voting public can be controlled by irrational fear i.e. "reds under the bed" and so on !!!!!!

Scandinavian and European countries have democratic socialist/ capitalist mixed economies. Nationalize health care and take the profit motive out of health care coverage/ medical services. Tie the minimum wage increase to inflation and rising cost of living.
@MrHarveyrex23
January 7, 2024 at 7:07 am
Capitalism, neo liberal globalization, socioeconomic wealth inequality, wage stagnation, job automation, technological unemployment, poverty, exorbitant medical bills/ health care costs, Republicans, corporate “moderate” democrats have helped concentrate all the wealth to the top. While the bottom 99% fight among each other for the leftover crumbs.

I SEE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT SOCIALISM AS THE OLD SOVIET SOCIALISM. THAT IS WHAT THE REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO THINK HOPING MOST PEOPLE DON'T THINK FOR THEMSELVES. SOCIAL MEDIA IS SOCIAL, INSTEAD OF THE WORD SOCIAL USE THE WORD PEOPLE. IT IS TAKING THE POWER OUT OF THE FEW AND DISTRIBUTING IT BACK TO THE PEOPLE SOCIALLY.

The three richest people in the US – Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffett – own as much wealth as the bottom half of the US population, or 160 million people. That’s more people than the population of Canada and Mexico combined. The gap between rich and poor had created the biggest moral crisis in history of united states.
The rich is getting richer and the poor is getting poorer…..!!!!

My fellow millenials… whatever you believe, don't let up, don't give up, and don't stop shouting. Especially at each other. We need to reinforce our new view of life within our generation so that the moment these stubborn old wind bags stop trying to vote on our behalf we can proceed with explosive power, occupy Congress ourselves, and set things right for ourselves and set the table for a future where generations after can continue to change things flexibly and reactively.

The conversation about capitalism vs socialism is a political fiction created by talking heads like these to divide people and rob them of the ability to have an honest discussion about how to have a market system that has reasonable checks and balances.

Whether you're capitalist or socialist in the fiscal, not metaphysical, sense isn't a binary state
It's about percentages and shades of grey.
I fork over 27% of my check, therefore I am 27% Socialist and 73% Capitalist. And I'm ok with that balance
Providing for the common good is in the Preamble of the Constitution, whereas Capitalism is mentioned nowhere

Ask the many hundred General Motors workers in Ohio and four other car assembly plants, who are being laid off in the next few days, if "the American Dream still persists." (These workers would be better & bring more to the table in an interview than the wealthy & comfortable commentators MSNBC has as talking heads in this video.) If these hardworking automobile builders ever believed in "The American Dream," they are experiencing a nightmare now thanks to capitalism. As George Carlin once pointed out, as for any dream, one has to be asleep to experience it!

I truly feel for anybody who has cystic fibrosis. What the poor guy probably doesn’t realize is that if it was up to Donald Trump and all of the Trumpanzees he He wouldn’t have healthcare to begin with and the reason he’s probably made it to adulthood is because of the Affordable Care Act. CF Is an absolutely horrible disease and usually kills children before they reach adulthood

"When you read a history book, socialism becomes slightly less appealing" First off, most of those young Americans support social democracy: The histories of Scandinavia would like to disagree with you. Second, socialism most actual socialists believe is the mainstreaming of worker coops. You know, like an actual democratic society would have. The society we live in is oligarchy and aristocratic in the private sector which then bleeds and corrupts the public sector. Every business should be democratized. It is the only economic system that is truly aligned with human decency.

We've got to start believing in this system again. He's not my preferred candidate, but I think Biden is the only one capable of beating Trump. Unless something pivotal happens in the investigations before the elections, Trump's mob of followers is standing their ground. We might just have to accept that a more moderate Democrat for now.

When listening to the people on the TV program remeber that they have done rather well from the current system. Hence their 'scary socialism' bias.
