Fox News Mogul Mocked In HBO’s Hit ‘Succession’

Published

on

Over the years, Fox News has played one of the largest roles in politics, with ring-wing billionaire Rupert Murdoch at the helm of the company. Murdoch is also part of the inspiration behind the hit HBO show “Succession,” which depicts an aging billionaire who owns a powerful right-wing cable channel and whose children jockey to take over the company. In her Beat debut, “Succession” star J. Smith-Cameron opens up to MSNBC’s Ari Melber about her role as “Gerri,” what fans can expect from the remainder of the latest season, and Murdoch’s influence on the show, saying “it’s sort of loosely based on Rupert Murdoch… it’s pretty clear comparisons.” (This segment is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber,” a news show covering politics, law, and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC bit.ly/thebeatwithari).

Fox is not news it is emotions. "She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye" Dirty Laundry by Don Henley and that was just a song not news! 😎 Fox is dog. 🤣

The whole world knows that Fox is ran by what was once Melmac a planet located in the Aldente Nebula in the Andromeda Galaxy…. Murdoch looks just like Alf! 👽 on a bad hair day.

Succession is just a tv show. The Murdochs are real, and out to destroy America for more money and power.

Murdoch's evil deeds rival those of the Koch Brothers. Kevin Rudd ex Australian Prime Minister called him a cancer on democracy.

We, as a nation, need to stop sitting around like impotent sheep watching America be destroyed by republicans and their mega-corps, and saying " Gee, I wonder if the DOJ is going to do anything? Shouldn't that be a crime? Shouldn't they be indicted for Insurrection? Shouldn't SOMEBODY be doing something?" And sighing, and returning to watching TV…

Rupert Murdoch is the person most responsible for the demise of democracy in the USA

  14. @richardcory5024

I suspect that the real Rupert Murdoch is far more influential and politically powerful than the Logan Roy character who portrays him is shown as being in the HBO series. Certainly he is the de facto ruler of the UK and no doubt calls the tune in the GOP.

Unbelievable. Once again, y'all provide fodder for the conspiracy theories. So now, we will glorify a man fuelling the disintegration/dissolution of the USA by spreading disinformation, for selfish, pecuniary, racist, authoritarian reasons. We'll make him a hero. How wonderful…

Old men in their late seventies have absolutely no business trying to manage a country. I believe Biden is and has trying to do his best with the mess left behind by Trump. Trump obviously is a mental patient suffering from severe brain damage.
Can't imagine for a moment the task of managing any country nonetheless the USA.
A monstrous task and responsibility. I'm in my mid 60's and can't manage left sock from left sock, kinda a joke, nonetheless the business of nations is not for the aged, between Republicans and Democrats find an able young man who at least has a vision.

The sad part is he has a son ready to take over. Murdoch has been interfering in elections for decades. Casually watched Succession and thought it was terrifying. This is America as we know it today!
