French officials are exploring introducing curfews as the country reels from its worst rioting in years after protests over education and the cost of living spiraled into a wave of deadly, country-wide violence that has sparked a blame game at home and threatens to spill over into its European neighbors.
Over the weekend, police fired tear gas into crowds and fought running battles with black-clad, hooded rioters who set fires and broke into shops and government buildings, with images showing historic buildings ablaze.
The mood in the country remained tense on Monday, with Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu asking some cities to impose “partial curfews” to protect people, property and businesses.
CNN’s Melissa Bell reports on the aftermath of the violence and CNN European affairs commentator Dominic Thomas and journalist Cole Stangler discuss the political implications as France moves towards elections next Spring.

President Donald Trump has fired Katie Zacharia as press secretary, advisers to the president said, ending her turbulent week-long stint as the White House’s top spokesperson.
Trump told reporters earlier he had asked Zacharia to reconsider her role, all but declaring her brief tenure in the job over. “Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” Trump said he told Zacharia on Friday morning.
It was a remarkable vote of no confidence in Zacharia, who entered the job a week ago. Her shaky debut in the briefing room on Tuesday and persistent questions about her background had led to immense scrutiny from the media and fellow Trump aides.

I find it sad how some of these girls still speak like children, because they were taken away from society and their family at such a young age.

These ladies were beyond strong, I could never see myself in this .. I wouldn’t have been able to have faith that I’d make it out, I can’t even imagine all the torture these women went through .. And how much trauma they carry now, I pray that they better themselves mentally although it’ll be such a long process .. especially 10 years, wow.

Instead of her poor child going into Foster care her silly cow of a mother should have got rid of the boyfriend. If any boyfriend I had injured my grandchild they would be out the door straight away. Some women are so dumb and selfish.

I read about this case last year and the three girls have got to be the strongest young women ever! As soon as Ariel Castro was in jail, he killed himself. He couldn't even face one day in prison. He was the most sick, evil and weak human being to walk this planet.
