When Clyburn calls himself a progressive he means “any progress I’ve been happy to block for a few campaign donations”

That was funny, 'not sure about the progress with two people'….well, we need the cavalry on this one, it's going to take more than just committed legislators or president. We are not going into the midterms with gerrymandered districts, period.

If they don't get rid of the filibuster, Biden will get nothing done for the next four years, Dems will lose the Senate and possibly the House in 2022, and the Repubs will retake the White House in 2024 on a platform of "the Dems got nothing done." That will be Biden's legacy, getting nothing done and pulling defeat from the mouth of victory.

The desire to reinforce (and simultaneously deny) a malevolent racial-hierarchy, is less unanimous in the D's than it is in the R's, but it's still there. Step one: Stop pretending.

Hey Clyburn! Why did you come out in support of Nina Tuner's opponent? The same reason you supported Biden and halted Bernie's momentum. You are terrible.

PEOPLE are hurting and POLITICS are getting paid .THAT'S SAD. TALKING about it is SAD. The REPUBLICANS PARTY did WHAT they want and the Democrats are talking about let's get along. The Democrats are the PROBLEM ALSO .JUST DO IT DEMOCRATS. STOP BEING BITCHS

  15. @marilyno8616

Filibuster should not exist, period. Fair opportunity to speak out for or against voting agendas, of course. The right to prevent a vote, should not exist. It is up to the American public to do the work that selects genuine, honest, senators and representatives of integrity to vote on our behalf.

    January 11, 2024 at 3:37 pm

As a progressive I would agree with clyburn when the filibusters actually gone until then he ain't made any progress whatsoever just like the rest of them. We're just taking the long flush down the toilet

  23. @AlienCatTweets

    January 11, 2024 at 3:37 pm

How many times does the GOP Senate have to draw the Dems in, make demands that the Dems agree to, only to vote it down anyways before Schumer gets it? McConnell isn't going to allow anything to pass and Sinema and Manchin are both doing their part to help the GOP.

  24. @journeyman378

Rep. Dean: Trump ‘Lit The Match’ That Caused The Capitol Hill Riots | Andrea Mitchell | MSNBC

Published

Congresswoman and impeachment manager Madeleine Dean (D-PA) tells Andrea Mitchell that President Trump “lit the match,” causing the riots at the Capitol on January 6. Dean also pushed back on the notion that impeaching a former president is unconstitutional. “And we do know, number one, it is constitutional because the text of the constitution is not just about removal as a result of impeachment and conviction but also future disqualification. The framers knew very much the threat of mobs and demagogues,” she said. Aired on 01/25/2021.

Sen. Murphy: Proposed Relief Bill ‘Could Get Us Through What Could Be A Very Hard And Deadly Winter’

Published

on

By

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss the proposal of a $908 billion COVID relief bill by a bipartisan group of senators as 14 million Americans could lose unemployment aid by the end of December. Sen. Murphy says, “This amount of money could get us through what could be a very hard and deadly winter. This isn’t big enough to be able to get us to the point where the entire country is vaccinated. But it might be enough to make sure that millions of Americans don’t go hungry, don’t starve, don’t die out on the streets this winter when their jobless benefits expire and when protections for evictions expire.” Aired on 12/01/2020.
