A gunman killed himself after opening fire on a Florida school board meeting. He was confronted by two school officials, one who attacked him with her purse, and another, the security chief, who fired his gun at the shooter.
Police said a 56-year-old man disrupted the the Bay District School Board meeting in Panama City, Fla., walked up to the podium, pulled out a can of red spray paint and painted a large letter “V” with a circle around it.
“The shooter approached the front of the board members, spray painted a symbol on the wall and fired an unknown amount of rounds,” said Panama City Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeff Becker.

OpenAI found additional incidents of AI models acting deceptively and taking unsanctioned actions during training, the company announced Wednesday. It’s also introducing a new process for the company to publicly report such instances.
Under the new system, OpenAI will share updates on concerning AI behavior more frequently instead of waiting to bundle multiple instances into one report. The company said it wants to share more information about troubling AI behavior in the absence of an industry-wide standard.

The race to develop artificial intelligence is in dire need of a slowdown, Anthropic’s chief executive Dario Amodei said in an essay posted early Saturday.
“We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models. Progress will still seem fast, and we must make wise use of the time we gain,” Amodei wrote in the 3,800-word post to his website.

No one deserves to die, but why did they fire his wife? Was it unjust? Did they mistreat her like most jobs if today do? I’d like to know the reasoning to go to this extent. Maybe that’s where the problem lies and these chairman should take more accountability for their actions. Regardless this is never the answer.

God that cops entry was terrible. Zero sense of surroundings or preparation to take action against a shooter. Pointed his weapon at unarmed civilians but failed to cover the body regardless of whether he thinks the suspect is dead. Erratic and unsure movement.
