How Amazon Sellers Are Supplying Hospitals And First Responders
Amid massive shortages, Amazon is only allowing hospitals and government agencies to order items like N95 masks and COVID-19 diagnostic kits. Now, third-party sellers on Amazon are stepping up to help, and repositioning their small businesses to survive the pandemic. CNBC talked to sellers who pivoted rapidly to supply healthcare providers and first responders with everything from masks and gowns from China to hand sanitizer made with leftover ingredients for toy putty.

How corporations use Ireland to dodge taxes
A large number of U.S. companies have operations in Ireland, and names such as Apple, Microsoft and Pfizer appear to have taken steps to stow intellectual property in the country to reduce their effective corporate income tax rates.
Members of President Donald Trump’s administration have signaled that some of that activity should return to the states.

Yes, let's push Amazon workers more. You just finished saying they were doing more than the government (no big surprises there), and that they werent't given masks until they staged walkouts, during which Amazon called them liars and claimed they had, and now you say push yourself even harder.
If I misunderstood then my bad, but if not, talk to Bezos and push him to inspire and help them to be better, instead of as usual, focusing on the lower tiers. It all starts from the top.

This is for sure a sad time for the whole world. Before the pandemic, China has 50 percent of the production power for N95 masks, which is 110,000 pieces a day. And till 9th of April the country is able to produce 3.4 million pieces a day and growing. The building of new production line needs time and money and if this thing goes away fast, the break even price for factories are high. All N95 and surgical mask need to go through 14 day sterilization period before shipping, that’s why it is painful. All factories which was approved by Chinese cdc is rolling out masks with a break even price about 1.1 US dollars. And includes air freight 3 dollars a piece is a fair price. Everything cost more due to abnormal growth of demand, maybe when this is over, all masks gonna be even cheaper, but that’s the sad reality of free market.

After this pandemic is over one thing is for sure every government has to look at how much of “necessary products” they need are being made in China. Because one thing is for sure when things get bad again China is going to keep the supply to themselves. The days of China being the world manufacturing center should be coming to an end

Our nurses and doctors are number hero and should be one of the most important people’s and after this pandemic they should be awarded with anything they want…they fought for our freedom we should let them be our first priority to keep their lives meaningful and happy after this because they deserve it because they didn’t do this because it’s their work but because saving lives were their motivation to study for nurse and doctors😷🦇

ALL these amazon sellers are ONLY supporting overseas manufacturers. They could give a s*** less for the American people. Bring the manufacturing back to America. People want jobs, people need jobs. If it's not economically feasible then ask the government to grant stimulus to help boost funding for a "needed" workplace.

It's sort of funny. In the US the phrase "National Security" is thrown around for any number of issues but it seems no one is talking national civil preparedness when using that phrase.
Mass storage of tens of millions of masks and protection equipment, Rapid development and production of tests along with prepared locations for mass casualties should be "National Security". Having ready to start labs and factories in strategic places all over the country placed in mothballs but ready to begin production in a few weeks could be the difference between living and dying if an outbreak of something both highly contagious but also deadly showed up.
In case of a virulent disease similar to smallpox showing up you could be forced to produce enough test kits to use on ten percent of your population in 3 months, could the US handle that? And remember you can't place these factories in countries with cheap labour, they'll want to keep protective equipment and test kits for their own populace in case of a global pandemic.

After 911 new laws and regulations were passed to avoid another attack. After the CoronaVirus America must have some Medical Strategic Manufacturing done in America for National Security reasons. Maybe the Armed Forces could help. We were caught with our pants down…Again. We spend billions of Dollars on our military, and yet we can’t provide our health workers with a basic mask? It’s clear now that to hurt America really bad, the enemy just need a Virus.
