Well, it’s a totally different story now. After a year and five months, Taiwan government has done nothing other than wearing masks. The current spike certainly demonstrates the critical aspects of controlling the infectious virus, and Taiwan is short of the vaccines and testing which results in the highest death rate on world record in the isolated island.

Check it out now, since Mid May 2021, Taiwan has demonstrated a failed COVID-19 prevention programs, rising deaths and confirmed cases daily, not even to mention a ‘COVID-19’ RT-PCR test is not performed in the island. It is initiated by a number of city mayors in selective hot spots where confirmed cases are reported! It is a joke!

This report is so laughable! Taiwan is total chaos. Ravaging covid infections, power outages while people face lockdown and requested to work and school from home, water shortages and nowhere to be seen vaccines. All these sad situations are results of incompetent government that has been hiding the truths from the people.

I think the biggest factor was the last one mentioned…. the early border closing. sad but probably true. my friends who live there all told me that mask wearing didn't really change and there was almost 0 lockdown. but border closing hurts a lot of people obviously.

Taiwan has been absolutely outstanding, largely because they didn’t trust the PRC (China) and are not in the WHO (which didn’t bother to quality check China’s data, “cough” lies). New Zealand followed Taiwan’s strategy early on and now have a similarly impressive low rate. If more countries listened to Taiwan in the early days they would have been in the same excellent position as Taiwan is now as the country with the worlds most successful Covid strategy.

About the shaming part is quite true, but we don't shame those who didn't wear mask by posting their faces on the internet, we stare or persuade them to put it on. But most of I have heard, is people around just simply offer their mask, then problem solved.

Why are the West ignoring Vietnam (because it's a Communist country)? Let's compare the #. Taiwan population is 24 millions vs Vietnam 95.5 millions. Taiwan has 458 cases and 7 deaths; Vietnam has 413 cases and ZERO death. Taiwan is an island while Vietnam shares a border with China.

Two main reasons why Taiwan was so successful:
    1. SARS experience in 2003
    2. Not trusting the PRC

Only 7 people died of COVID-18 in Taiwan. Taiwan's keys to beating COVID-19 also explain why US fails.
    1. Ensure they have enough masks for everyone. US didn't have enough masks even for nurses. Now we have enough masks but people still refuse to wear them, US fails.
    2. Tracing medical records of every patient. US calls it invasion of privacy. US fails.
    3. Clear communication and everyone knows exactly what to do. US leaders politicize the pandemic and the sharpie monster gives false information daily. US fails.

  24. @robertos4876

While Taiwan was closing its borders to Chinese visitors back in January, American politicians were virtue signaling loudly to their CCP financiers that banning Chinese visitors was racist. While Taiwan assembled a team of laboratories and private enterprises to develop four versions of quick reaction testers, our CDC developed a faulty tester under Dr. Fauci that came out months late. While Taiwanese governments of all levels unified their response under their CDC, our states went their separate ways with the most glaring ineptitude displayed by Newsom who spent $1B to buy Chinese face masks that failed CDC standards after several attempts were made by the Chinese vendor to correct their quality problems. While Taiwan was sanitizing every school student entering classrooms, our county supervisors locked our kids at home while allowing vandals to roam the streets in close ranks. And people wonder why the difference in results.

in U.S., the public rejects basic virus science such as wearing a mask, or watching one's distance, or washing one's hands.

there is no seperation of science and politics, or science and fiction, like there is for church and state.

  38. @nknighton70

Only a handful of people have actually died from it everywhere else. The difference is that their hospitals aren't turning in false numbers like counting all deaths, including people that died in car wrecks, as COVOD 19. This whole thing is a scam. If you don't believe me you're either a paid troll or a complete idiot who believes everything they see from MSNBC and CNN.

Taylor Farms has been linked to cyclosporiasis and salmonella outbreaks this summer. After years of consolidation, experts say the company’s ability to control every stage of the supply chain has made it indispensable to grocers and restaurant chains, while raising the stakes for consumers when things go wrong. CNBC food and wellness reporter Brandon Gomez explains the U.S. became so reliant on Taylor Farms.
