New House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Sunday that aid to Israel will be considered on the House floor in a stand-alone measure this week and expressed confidence that it would pass, resisting President Joe Biden’s call for Congress to provide a broader package that also includes aid to Ukraine.

There's always money for war but never any money domestically for U.S. citizens for things like healthcare.

    Stand alone bills make sense.
Making a commitment to Taiwan is not the same as making a commitment to Israel.
Those in power always spend our money like drunken sailors. The bill is coming due and the way it’s gona be handled is with rampant devaluation of your dollars.

In 1970 my first job paid $1.69 per hour and I bought a new Dodge Charger for $4000.
    Get the picture?

This picture of the temporary speaker and Mike Johnson is a good example of who should have passed the gavel onto Johnson, NOT HAKEEM JEFFRIES.

What they are saying is if this bill doesn't get passed all the pro Israel U.S politicans will cause a government shut down.

Evaluate and examine each bill is a responsible way on spending. We must control our country debt, we cannot continue borrowing and paying compounding interests!

What I have to say is something that everyone needs to hear. Whether you believe or not God is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
    The Bible says
…”And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: …” Genesis 12:3
So right it down today and date it. Everyone who voted against giving funds to Israel May the Curse of God fall upon you and your household. Consider it twice before you mock what I said.

  13. @ltmdf117

    January 16, 2024 at 12:24 pm

Speaker Johnson has said that cutting funding for the IRS budget is a way to find aid for Israel. The IRS can be cut down to a twig for all I care. We should have went to a flat income tax along with a consumption tax decades ago. That is the only fair tax system out there. It's the only true way (as Joe Biden says) for everyone to pay their fair share. No credits, no exemptions, no subsidies. The only ones that I think should be exempt from paying are the elderly (those 65 and Older), our severely handicapped (those that cannot take care of themselves) and our military folks that are serving in frontline combat roles in a active conflict that we have none in right now. That's it. Everyone else including the welfare sponges pays their fair share.

How much is enough for Ukraine. Funny not one word of Ukraine's war since Israel had been attacked. But everyone thinks we needs to keep funding them. How much has the US giving already? About 130 billion + and they have no idea where this money is going. What about all the other countries who supports this killing. How about them fund Ukraine for awhile. Or is this really the United States war just being fought by Ukraine.

If at First You DON’T (Constitutionally) SUCCEED, Try TRY AGAIN

Published

on

By

According to Mary and Andrew, recent moves by President Trump’s administration have been following a pattern: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” The co-hosts begin by breaking down the flurry of news surrounding mail voting, starting with Monday afternoon’s decision by the Supreme Court to allow President Trump’s executive order curtailing mail voting to proceed, though not issuing a decision on the merits of the order. They discuss that decision in conjunction with the Postal Service’s announcement on Friday for a final rule that would comply with the executive order, a move that Andrew calls a proxy for the government to “have the Postal Service act in a way that has a clearly disproportionate impact on certain voters.”

Then, a conversation about birthright citizenship after a motion was filed yesterday rejecting Trump’s executive orders that attempt to limit the legal principle. Plus, an analysis of the Second and Ninth Circuit Court’s rulings disqualifying U.S. Attorneys that were improperly appointed by Trump and a quick nod to Minnesota suing the governor of Texas for not extraditing an ICE agent accused of shooting a man in Minneapolis.

Claire McCaskill joins #MorningJoe following the debut of the Harris-Walz campaign at Tuesday’s rally in Philadelphia. McCaskill contrasts Walz with JD Vance, stating, “Walz is mac and cheese and a trip to the hardware store. Walz is exactly what JD Vance is pretending to be. He is of the heartland. He is not coastal elite.”
McCaskill predicts a “mic drop moment” in debates, especially on issues like IVF, where Vance voted against protections that helped Walz and his wife have their child Hope.
