No need for Dems to be upset, the Biden admin was a part of the negotiations and plus they love unions. Buttigieg is a COMPLETE failure. Pay them more, but if they get sick its over or come to work sick! Yet this administration blame the Repubs for supporting big business. When will people realize both parties are hypocrites! …and he made it through a whole interview w/o mentioning Trump! Wow!

East Palestine happened because union workers were too lazy to inspect the equipment. This sort of thing is common across industries.

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Why didn't congress and Joe union say no we will not give them 7 but maybe go for 3 or 4 that Decision I Guarantee the Union workers would have gotten behind that and agreed

  12. @markbrandli3866

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Why do you say the railroad go a 24% raise ? Yes it is a 24% raise but what your not telling everyone is the agreement was 3 years behind they have been working 3 years without a agreement and the 24% is 4% first year 7% the next then the next year 4% , then the next year and so on the 24% raise is not a 24% raise until the 5th year , that is what you should be saying . Everyone thinks the railroad is getting a 24% raise and shout up , this lie your telling could not be further from the truth

What a joke…This is not the best thing railroaders have ever had. Give in something, RAILROADERS lost everything and gained nothing. We dont give a crap about pay…we would like to make doctors appointments or if our kids get sick we would like to be able to take care of them. WE DONT CARE about the pay, we want to be able to make doctors appointments so we dont friggen die…wack ass government

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Fake News Jake's questions are uninformed, and Buttigieg is a fraud. Pres. Biden blocking this strike was outrageous not even suggesting the parties invite the Fed. Mediation and Conciliation service. MBWED union voted 6646-5100 to STRIKE, which means Biden's a hypocritical fake about saving democracy, voting rights, being pro-union, because he VIOLATED union rights under NLRA, Sec. 13. [§ 163. Right to strike].

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

If they got a pay raise, better health benefits and 1 additional pto day- weigh that against “sick time”. Many companies today lump together sick time and vacation time so it can be 6 of one, half dozen of another. I don’t know how much vacation these workers get, but am curious.

  18. @spencer1980

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Just take your sick days. You don't need permission. Don't abuse it. It will become obvious if you do and then you'll lose the high ground. 7 sick days is plenty reasonable, so just clock in for each other if you've got the flu.

  19. @russellknippel1877

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Is Jake Tapper too stupid to realize how much the Railroad companies donate to Democrats? Democrats know they own the union votes. Like the African-American votes they don't really have to do anything to keep those votes and they know it.

Facts are this Pete, y'all didn't stand with the workers! Democrats can't be pro labor if they break a strike PERIOD!

Resume gaslighting of workers by Democrats starts here: 7:10 Pete’s contribution 🙄

    January 19, 2024 at 6:06 pm

May the railway workers never forget how the Democrat party treated them when it mattered. Force through legislation to screw them, now shut up. We'll see you at the next election – or we don't even to do that anymore. They got ballots and machines.

Swan predicts Trump’s ‘free & fair elections’ speech announcement

Published

on

By

President Donald Trump plans to use part of a primetime speech Thursday to discuss new findings about the security of American elections, among other topics — setting up yet another high-profile opportunity for the president to dispute the results of the 2020 election he lost. Speaking in the Oval Office two days ahead of the planned address, Trump affirmed the speech would focus on elections and a “couple of other things.”

Officials said the speech is still being finalized, but Trump was expected to discuss several topics. He’s still deeply mired in his conflict with Iran, with nightly strikes in the country as he seeks a path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Even as that war appears to be restarting, however, Trump framed the elections portion of his Thursday speech as the centerpiece.
