That sounds like a famous last words joke. I am very pleased to hear that a survey conducted in 12 countries shows that only 17% view USA as a good example of democracy. I thought it was just me 😀🤣😂😂😉 USA thus loses all rights to lecture "democracy" to other countries, and now we, other countries, have a big fat reason to celebrate 😀😀❗❗

85% approval from his first speech to Congress. Trump has never gone above 50% in all his years. If the rich 1% pay their Fair Share of the taxes THEY owe, we CAN afford to make all these changes! Biden's American Rescue Plan $2 Trillion, Infrastructure $2 Trillion, Family plan $2 Trillion. The GOP who passed the 1% tax cut for the rich : Where are we going to get this money for these plans? 1% of the country or 3.31 Million of the richest in our country, some pay 0 taxes and they have much better tax benefits than the 99%.
I almost made $100k in 2019. I owed and paid $15k in federal taxes.
So if a Millionaire paid the same tax rate as me, he would pay $150,000 for every million he makes.
A Billionaire would pay $150 Million in taxes for every billion he makes. There are about 90 billionaires in America so 90 x 150 Million = $135 Trillion. That's only 90 people. 1% of America is 3.31 Million rich people. If they All paid there FAIR SHARE like the rest of us, They owe in the Quadrillions. We have more than enough to pay for our Country's costs to operate! We have money to pay for education, for health care. The GOP wants YOU, the 99% of America, to pay for what the rich don't have to.

For the same reason that FDR especially, and LBJ had to "go big", so does Biden. We could have made these huge investments in infrastructure and people over the last 40 years, but Ronald Reagan told us we shouldn't, and no president, not even Democrats, would challenge Reagan orthodoxy, just like Republican orthodoxy was basically not challenged from 1896 to 1933. We let the nation drift and the individual state governments decide what they felt like doing for their people or not, as if it were not in the interest of all Americans to see all Americans succeed, regardless of where they live or who they are. As a result, disaster strikes and we have to scramble to do in ten years what could have been done incrementally over 40 years at a lower cost than now, or face an America that is either irrelevant or chaotic or both. Oddly enough, it is 78-year old Joe Biden, of all people, who seems best prepared to do what needs to be done and set forth a vision of a relevant and strong American future. Republicans think that by mythologizing the past they can change the present and hoodwink the rest of the world into taking the USA seriously in the future. Perhaps we should stop calling the two parties Democratic and Republican and label the former the Progressive and the latter the Regressive Party.
