The Spring/Summer 2021 collection of Tadashi Shoji is inspired by rebirth, for after a season of darkness, life blossoms once again. The designer presented a positive, vibrant collection in a form of a fashion film. This style is easy-to-wear. Graceful shapes move with an effortlessness, flowy A-lines and swept-silhouettes are feminine and soft for slow-speed occasions set outside. The designer also played up textures through lace insets and dramatic flair with voluminous sleeves.

Tadashi Shoji is an American-based Japanese fashion designer known for his evening wear and bridal collections, and his red-carpet fashion. The Tadashi Shoji brand is carried in over 700 major department and specialty stores worldwide, with signature boutiques in the United States, Indonesia, and the Middle East.

New Yorkers are on seventh heaven as New York City has been crowned as the fashion capital of the world! The Big Apple has been having a major influence on international fashion trends and is a key centre for the fashion industry, events and trade fairs.

Gilles Mendel takes a moment from the hubbub backstage to talk to FashionTV. “This Fall collection has been inspired by a Vogue editorial by Diane Vreeland in Barcelona,” he says. The line contains beautiful architecture and texture as well as a beautiful mosaic. There’s a mix of fabrics and a lot of surprise. “Furs are going to be amazing!” he exclaims. Australian model Nicole Trunfio is backstage in a tight ivory dress, beige heels and matching fur. “He uses such luxurious fabrics and its very elegant and timeless,” she says of the designer and the brand. Trunfio is a busy girl, traveling to Miami and Paris for modeling and working on a jewelry line that is out in March 2012.
