“He is the world’s most famous political prisoner.”

Stella Assange, wife of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, compared her husband to Alexei Navalny in a recent protest. Mr. Assange is currently waiting to find out whether he can challenge extradition to the U.S. on spying charges.

Attorneys for the U.S., where Assange has been indicted on espionage charges, said he put innocent lives at risk and went beyond journalism in his bid to solicit, steal and publish classified U.S. government documents.

During a protest following Assange’s latest court hearing in London, Stella said, “We know what happened to the other most famous political prisoner last week. That cannot happen to Julian.”
