“I want the TRUTH” NY Gov. appoints special prosecutor in Cornell case

“At every turn, she was failed by people and institutions, with an obligation to protect her.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul criticized Cornell University and local authorities for their handling of a 2024 sexual assault case and announced that she has appointed New York Attorney General Letitia James as a special prosecutor to investigate.

When pressed about their response to the allegations, Cornell University said they punished students after conducting a thorough Title XI investigationand Tomkins County DA Matthew Van Houten said he had not learned of some details in the accuser’s police interview transcript until Tuesday.
