New court filings show just how far the Trump administration was willing to push legal boundaries in their effort to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey. Those records show that Secret Service officials were skeptical of Trump officials’ claim that his ’86 47’ seashells post was a threat on the President’s life. The Secret Service argued that they did not have the legal authority to track Comey’s phone without a warrant but were pressured to do so anyway by a top Justice Department official.
