Published

on

French President Emmanuel Marcon sat down exclusively with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief, John Micklethwait. Macron said he would be open to seeing a major French bank being taken over by a European Union rival in order to spur the deeper financial integration he sees as critical for the bloc’s future prosperity. In corporate news, Anglo American is planning to exit diamond, platinum and coal mining in a massive restructuring to fend off a takeover approach from rival BHP. Analysts say Anglo’s plan is a “significant strategic U-turn.”
