Communities in Florida are recovering after Helene slammed into the Gulf Coast. The Tropical Storm is now headed north. NBC News’ Marissa Parra is on the ground in Tampa to report more on the destruction and Bill Karins has the latest forecast. South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham passed away overnight at the age of 71. In a statement posted on X, his office confirmed he suffered from a “brief and sudden illness”. Graham served in the House of Representatives for 8 years before winning his Senate seat in 2002. Though he was critical of President Trump in 2016, he later became one of his fiercest allies and defenders in Congress. Graham had just returned from a trip to Kyiv, Ukraine on Friday where he met with President Zelenskyy.

MS NOW exclusively reports Kash Patel’s planned weekend trip to see his girlfriend was canceled after top Trump deputies frustrated with the FBI director summoned him to the White House, according to two people with knowledge of the change. The White House disputes that Patel was summoned over frustration with his leadership, saying he was there for unrelated meetings.
