Setchu: Caught in the Nets for S/S 27 | Milan Men Fashion Week

Published

Witness a miraculous catch of Japanese precision and Italian savoir-faire: watch the full Setchu spring/summer 2027 runway presentation now on FashionTV!

Unveiled to a captivated audience during Milan Fashion Week, designer Satoshi Kuwata delivered his most intimate, emotionally resonant collection to date for Setchu’s S/S 2027 season. Titled “Caught in the Nets,” the collection serves as a poetic translation of Kuwata’s recent travels to the abundant fishing grounds of Gabon.

Navigating a world of constant change, the 2023 LVMH Prize winner intentionally rejected the industry’s pressure for commercial excess – editing the presentation down to a hyper-focused, masterfully executed selection of looks. The result is a striking narrative where everyday utilitarian clothing is elevated into a fluid, graceful, and highly protective contemporary armor. The runway came alive with a genderless cast of “sirens” enveloped in intricate textile geometry.

The collection’s core motif was beautifully realized through multi-colored networks of leather cords, meticulously hand-knotted by artisans using the traditional “Japanese Square Knot” technique. These fragile yet incredibly resilient net overlays gracefully draped over olive dresses and sharp tailoring, responding organically to the body’s movement. Kuwata seamlessly merged Savile Row tailoring precision with Japanese origami principles, introducing a dynamic tension between the rectangle and the circle.

Jersey fabrics were held taut by large, clean circular cavities piercing through minimalist black dresses and white tops, framing the skin in fragments while demonstrating an absolute mastery of mathematical cut and hidden fastening systems.

Ashi Studio: Armored Fragility for F/W 26-27 | Paris Haute Couture Week

Published

Discover how historical romance and dark surrealism collide in the fall/winter 2026-27 haute couture show of Ashi Studio; watch the full show on FashionTV! Celebrating twenty years of the Maison, Mohammed Ashi unveiled “A Different Skin”- a hauntingly poetic Haute Couture fall/winter 2026–2027 collection that transforms fashion into a surreal exploration of identity, armor, and transformation.

Drawing inspiration from Kafka’s Metamorphosis, Salvador Dalí’s legendary masquerade balls, and Victorian court elegance, the show positioned the body as a site of dramatic evolution. Sculptural corsetry with exaggerated hips, towering Elizabethan collars, and carapace-like bodices met delicate, distressed lace, tarnished gold accents, and feather-trimmed edges.

Materials blurred the senses: leather took on the sheen of polished ceramic, shimmery beadwork mimicked crystal glass, and a Venetian mirror sewn onto the back of a gown directly confronted the audience’s perspective. Through an earthy palette of bone, ivory, smoke, and deep velvet black, Ashi Studio delivered a masterclass in armored fragility, proving that true haute couture lies in the art of revealing who we are behind the mask.

Yuima Nakazato: Inseparable Opposites For F/W 26-27 | Paris Haute Couture Week

Published

Where volcanic fire meets the deep blue sea: witness the breathtaking, high-tech ten-year anniversary showcase of Yuima Nakazato’s fall/winter 2026–2027 collection on FashionTV!

Marking ten years as the sole Japanese couture Maison on the official calendar, Nakazato delivered “Sea of Fire Inferno” that seamlessly fuses the volcanic, raw nature of the Canary Islands with the centuries-old performance traditions of Japanese theater. The collection is grounded in the philosophical concept of duality, inspired by the cliffs of Tenerife, where crashing black ocean swells violently clash with arid lava rock.

To express these paired yet opposing forces – fire and water, sun and moon – Nakazato drew inspiration from monogi, a traditional costume-changing technique in theatrical Noh and Kyogen drama, in which performers transform in full view of the audience.

Five performers graced the stage in garments engineered entirely from flat rectangles, echoing the structural DNA of the Japanese kimono. In a mesmerizing display of transformation, the garments shifted from ocean blue to fiery red before the audience’s eyes, altering each silhouette’s physical presence to reflect the passage of time and the shifting elements.

The duality extended into the brand’s signature ceramic dress, “Fragile Armor,” subverting the traditional, conflict-driven concept of protective gear into something beautifully delicate.
