Rep. Crockett to Speaker Mike Johnson: Don’t expect ‘any favors’ from Dems in new Congress
“He’s not gonna get any favors out of us,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) tells Ali Velshi, after Democrats once again voted to fund the government and prevent a shutdown, despite external political pressure from Elon Musk and Donald Trump. “We will see how this Republican trifecta decides they’re going to govern or not.” As a member of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, Crockett vows “to continue to be a thorn” in Republicans’ side moving forward. “I am going to make sure that the American people can know the nice things that they can have if they just put the right people in power, and that means putting the Democrats back on top.”
