Jen Psaki reports on Donald Trump giving Russian President Vladimir Putin another big boost by dropping sanctions to allow Russia to move more diesel fuel to market and suggested the U.S. would be among the buyers. Trump even thanked Putin even though the diesel release is not expected to be enough to change global diesel prices, but will yield billions for Russia to spend on its war against ostensible U.S. ally, Ukraine. Brett McGurk, former White House coordinator for the Middle East, joins to discuss.

MS NOW’s Ken Dilanian joins Morning Joe for the latest installment of “Justice Interrupted,” a series highlighting how President Donald Trump has used clemency power unlike any president in modern history—throwing out the old rulebook and disregarding findings by judges and juries. Dilanian looks at the pardon of Michele Fiore, a Republican judge and former Las Vegas city councilwoman who was convicted in 2024 of defrauding donors by raising money to build a memorial statue for two fallen police officers, only to spend the funds on plastic surgery, rent and her daughter’s wedding. Trump granted Fiore a full pardon in April 2025.
