On today’s show, a regional jet flown for American Airlines Group collided in a deadly midair crash with a military helicopter as it flew into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, prompting a search and rescue operation for any survivors in the Potomac River. The regional jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew had come in from Wichita, Kansas, when it hit the Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk helicopter with three military personnel on board while approaching the runway just before 9 p.m. local time. Officials declined to say if there were any survivors.
