Kansas could see first Dem Senator in 94 years: Enten & analysts unpack
Nearly four weeks out from Election Day, the Senate battleground map is growing after signs of improvement for Democrats in several red-leaning states. For the first time this year, CNN’s list of 9 Senate seats most likely to flip expands to 10 to include Kansas, which hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932.
CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten unpacks the Kansas race, in which incumbent GOP Sen. Roger Marshall is currently tied in polls with Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton. Manu Raju’s “Inside Politics” panel looks at the race, and CNN senior political analyst Ron Brownstein examines the Senate seats most likely to flip this cycle.

Trump called his new AI chatbot ‘damn good.’ Then it fact-checked him
President Donald Trump launched a new artificial intelligence chatbot on Tuesday, calling it “damn good.” Turns out that one of the things it’s reasonably good at is debunking Trump’s own lies.
We asked the America.gov chatbot about numerous false claims the president has made in recent months, including one he uttered at the Tuesday launch event itself. The chatbot flatly and correctly noted that many of these Trump claims are not true – including assertions he has made about elections, the economy, immigration and foreign affairs.
The chatbot is not the best tool for political fact-checking. Intended to help Americans access federal information and services, it refused to address some Trump falsehoods on the grounds that the answers would require information from sources outside the federal government. It also provided outdated or incomplete evidence in some cases. Still, its firm rejections of some of his most frequent falsehoods represent a rare repudiation of his dishonesty from a source his administration developed and he personally endorsed.

Was Nixon framed? Trump’s DOJ looks into Watergate investigation
52 years after his resignation and 32 years after his death, the Department of Justice is looking into whether President Richard M. Nixon was wronged by federal prosecutors investigating the Watergate scandal. Rep. Riley Moore (R-WV) said Thursday that Nixon was “absolutely couped out of office and was framed.” Moore also compared Nixon to President Donald Trump, claiming that they were both victims of the “deep state.”
CNN’s “NewsNight” panel debates the news, and former Nixon Library director Tim Naftali speaks with Laura Coates. Also, Jim Antle of the Washington Examiner discusses the “Nixonmaxxing” trend, in which Gen Z lionizes the ex-president.
