The Republican-controlled Senate held a marathon voting session Monday on President Donald Trump’s massive tax cut and spending bill, stretching out for more than 14 hours without a clear path to an endgame. The Senate was locked in the “vote-a-rama” process, in which senators can offer unlimited amendments.

Veteran “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley has been fired from CBS News, the day after he excoriated the show’s new executive producer as well as editor-in-chief Bari Weiss in a staff meeting.

The venerated show’s newly named executive producer, Nick Bilton, announced the network “parted ways” with Pelley in a note to staff obtained by MS NOW.
