Republicans in political crisis: Serve the public or serve Trump, but can’t do both
Brendan Buck, former advisor to Speakers Ryan and Boehner, and Neera Tanden, former domestic policy advisor to President Biden, talk with Jen Psaki about the political challenges Republicans face being tied to Donald Trump’s deeply unpopular budget bill and the pain the bill’s provisions will cause to a large number of Americans. Republicans can do what Trump wants, or Republicans can do what is right for their constituents, but those two options are mutually exclusive, so they can’t do both.
