Welcome to Eurovision This Week. This is your update of the 11th of February.

During the final of their national selection “The Next Star” Israel picked Eden Alene to be their representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

For the second time, Australia held a national final to decide their act for the Eurovision Song Contest. Montaigne won Eurovision – Australia Decides with her song Don’t Break Me.

Samanta Tīna won Supernova, the Latvian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday night with her song Still Breathing.

In Malta, Destiny won the final of X-factor and won the right to represent the island nation in Rotterdam. Destiny previously participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and won the competition with her song Not My Soul. Her song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be revealed at a later date.

In Italy, the prestigious Festival di SanRemo took place. Diodato won the competition with his song Fai Rumore.

The most famous internet star of The Netherlands, make up artist NikkieTutorials will report on the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam via our online channels. She will also record a special backstage YouTube series with the participating artists, report from the red carpet during the Opening Ceremony and will be seen at all 3 live shows.

France announced they will reveal their song on Sunday the 16th of February.

Next weekend, Armenia, Lithuania and Norway will chose their entries for Rotterdam. Belgium will release their song on the 17th of February.

Armed officer hitches a ride from motorist to catch fleeing suspect

Armed police in Kent, U.K. got a helping hand pursuing a fleeing suspect, when a van driver stopped and offered one of the officers a ride, allowing him to overtake and apprehend the suspect.
