Banks in focus as HSBC shares gain in Hong Kong an improved outlook for profits. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas’ trading unit suffers a hit from souring debt in the third quarter, adding to challenges after a string of recent setbacks. Sources tell Bloomberg that Amazon is planning to cut corporate jobs in departments including logistics, payments, video games and cloud-computing.
