AI Concerns Fuel Equities Selloff, Bitcoin Briefly Drops Below $90k | The Opening Trade 11/18

Published

on

Valuations in the booming AI industry are due for a reassessment, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. Vice Chairman Daniel Pinto, who warned that any decline would reverberate across the stock market. “There is probably a correction there,” Pinto said at the Bloomberg Africa Business Summit in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

Initial jobless claims totaled 232,000 in the week ended Oct. 18, according to US Labor Department website showing historical data for claims. While the department has not released its weekly jobless claims report since the government shutdown began earlier this month, it has published data on it website through other channels.
