Zuhair Murad S/S 26: After the Dark, the Light, Paris Haute Couture
In the sun-drenched grand spaces of the Palais de Tokyo, Zuhair Murad delivered a masterclass in fashion-as-optimism for his Spring/Summer 2026 Haute Couture collection.
Titled “Chiaroscuro,” the collection serves as a poetic declaration of rebirth after dark times, proving that pure, unfiltered beauty remains our greatest act of resistance. Murad pulled inspiration from two golden eras of rebirth: the humanism of the Italian Renaissance and the transformative glamour of the 1950s.
The result was a breathtaking procession of silhouettes that felt like masterwork paintings come to life, moving from deep shadows into radiant, peaceful light. The collection masterfully balances structure and fluid sensuality, utilizing heavy, pristine fabrics like duchess satin and mikado to construct architectural foundations, only to soften them with cascading faille, diaphanous chiffon, and body-hugging jersey.
The real magic, however, lies in the intricate detailing executed by Murad’s ateliers, where dozens of embroiderers worked to construct surfaces designed entirely in sfumato – a technique of blurring edges to mimic the hand-ground pigments of Renaissance masters.
Soft, diaphanous pastels emerge almost imperceptibly from deep, shadowy undertones, elevated by silk-thread embroidery blended with ultra-fine metallic strands and discreet cabochons meticulously mapped to mimic cathedral ceilings and time-worn Italian frescoes.
Delicate, protective metallic chains draped across the shoulders and waists like wearable relics. With sculpted hips, commanding volumes, and dramatic overskirts that trailed behind models on the runway, Murad didn’t just dress the body, he built a soft armor for the modern sovereign woman.

Zig-Zag Zen by Missoni for F/W 26-27, Milan Fashion Week | FashionTV | FTV
Experience the pulse of a new chromatic era during the fall/winter 2026-2027 show of Missoni at Milan Fashion Week! This collection felt like a deliberate celebration of the house’s core DNA, reimagined with a sharp, contemporary edge that focused on the tactile nature of luxury. Alberto Caliri masterfully navigated the delicate balance between archival heritage and modern allure, opting for a “vibrating” aesthetic where the legendary zig-zag motif seemed to pulse across the fabric in new, unexpected scales. The color palette was a sophisticated dialogue between organic tones – think burnt siennas and mossy olives – and sudden, electric jolts of ultraviolet and sunset orange. The silhouette for the season prioritized fluidity and elongated proportions. Floor-length knit dresses draped with a liquid-like quality, while oversized cardigans featured intricate 3D-textured boucle yarns that provided architectural volume without weight. Innovation was present in the technical “space-dye” techniques, which allowed colors to bleed into one another with artistic grace. Beyond the signature knits, Caliri introduced semi-sheer silk separates and lurex-infused layers that caught the light with every step, creating a multi-dimensional shimmer. Accessories remained minimalist, letting the knitwear take center stage, with sleek, pointed-toe boots and narrow scarves that trailed like streamers. This season, Missoni proved that its spirit is not just a pattern, but a dynamic energy that remains the gold standard of Italian knitwear.

Dior HIGHLIGHTS: Cinematic Couture in the Hills for Cruise 2027
Get ready to be blown away by Dior’s Cruise 2027 show, held in Los Angeles, Jonathan Anderson’s spectacular first Cruise outing for the storied French house.
Unveiled within the sweeping concrete curves, fluid expanses of glass, and archly Brutalist architecture, Dior Cruise 2027 unfurled like an immersive, cinematic fever dream that beautifully filtered California past, present, and future through the lens of French high fashion. Staged inside a smoky dreamscape described by the House as “an illusion of LA, in LA,” the presentation hummed with the energy of a living film set, complete with vintage convertibles parked beneath the structure and an evocative musical score.
Anderson rooted the collection deeply in Dior’s historic relationship with Hollywood, tracing his creative spark back to a Haute Couture Spring/Summer 1949 jacket worn by screen legend Marlene Dietrich in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Stage Fright”.
Nodding to Dietrich’s legendary ultimatum, “No Dior, no Dietrich!”, the show’s press materials were even cleverly distributed in a classic Hollywood script format, celebrating Christian Dior’s postwar fascination with dreams, Surrealism, and cinematic escapism.
The runway itself offered a light, fresh, and alluring vision rife with surprising silhouettes, rich textures, and lush florals. The opening look – a striking buttercup-yellow dress covered in rosettes – immediately set a romantic tone. Gowns inspired by Californian icons, particularly the vibrant local poppy, floated down the runway like fields of wildflowers caught in the golden hour.
Anderson masterfully bridged the gap between everyday American staples and couture craftsmanship, sending out distressed denim embroidered with delicate silver chains, frayed bouclé wool jackets, embroidered lace evening dresses, patchwork scarves, and oversized shearling coats.
The collection effortlessly captured the multifaceted archetypes of Los Angeles, including a surprise collaboration with the legendary L.A. artist Ed Ruscha that perfectly proved Anderson’s show note philosophy: “The everyday becomes couture.” If this collection were a movie, it would be an instant classic.
Which L.A. archetype was your favorite?
