Trump’s Ukraine-Russia Deal: Lithuania Says Europe Must Move on Frozen Assets | The Pulse 11/24

Published

on

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Ukraine peace plan talks in Geneva have been productive. “But work remains, and because this continues to be a working process, I don’t want to declare victory or finality here,” he said. Rubio’s note of caution followed US-Ukrainian talks on Sunday that both sides described as making progress toward a deal. Any agreement would require signoff by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as well as Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

The controversial 28-point plan dropped suddenly by the Trump administration to Ukraine as a take-it-or-leave it proposition mere days ago was mostly the result of several weeks of negotiations behind the scenes between Steve Witkoff and his Russian counterpart Kirill Dmitriev that excluded not only Ukraine and its allies but even some key US officials.

Today’s guests: Ursula Marchioni, BlackRock; Gerry Keefe, HSBC; Kestutis Budrys Lithuanian Foreign Minister; John McCluskey, Alamos Gold CEO
