BTS of First Misfits: A Film by Olivier Ronot for Julien Fournie, Paris Couture | FashionTV | FTV

Published

on

The electric atmosphere of the Julien Fournie Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026 presentation, titled First Misfits, found its cinematic counterpart in Olivier Ronot’s documentary film of the same name. In First Misfits, Olivier Ronot explores the backstage sanctuary where Julien Fournie’s diverse cast of characters transition from street-style icons to Haute Couture legends. The film documents the intentional “impertinence” of the collection, focusing on the tactile contrast between traditional luxury and technical innovation. The collection marks a significant departure from conventional couture by integrating high-performance technical fabrics with traditional hand-stitched embroidery. Fournie utilizes a vibrant color palette, ranging from urban grays and asphalt blacks to sudden bursts of neon that mimic the flickering lights of the Paris metro. Oversized silhouettes and structured tailoring challenge traditional gender norms, allowing each “misfit” to project a sense of individualistic power. Detailed craftsmanship is evident in the inclusion of repurposed industrial materials, which are transformed into sophisticated accessories and hardware. The designer also pays tribute to the “gentleman thug,” blending tailored waistcoats with street-inspired bombers for a look that is both aggressive and elegant. Each garment serves as a narrative tool, telling the story of an outsider who has finally found a seat at the high-fashion table.

Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Show | New York Fashion Week NYFW | FashionTV

http://www.FashionTV.com/videos NEW YORK – Carolina Herrera may be the queen of elegant evening gowns, but her Spring/Summer 2013 took an unexpected and lighter tone at New York Fashion Week. Everything from the colors to the fabrics took on a thicker, more flowing feel in that perhaps represented the water and desert themes, which are common this season among the runways this season at NYFW. Colors like blues, yellows, and burnt oranges melded together in beautiful, ladylike dresses and gowns. Herrera used chiffon, georgette, organza, and tulle to make the dresses come alive. She also went for younger motifs and played with high-waist shorts in the same way that Oscar de la Renta did. And when she back to her signature elements–with those column gowns, she was still as perfect as ever.

Appearances: Karlie Kloss, Mirte Maas, Liu Wen, Emily Baker, Vika Falileeva, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Erjona Ala, Jasmine Tookes, Aymeline Valade, Lindsey Wixson, Cara Delevingne, Kasia Struss, Joan Smalls, Kate King, Zuzanna Bijoch, Ming Xi, Andreea Diaconu, Sigrid Agren, Kinga Rajzak, Magdalena Frackowiak, Andie Arthur, Ruby Aldridge, Anais Mali, Anna Selezneva, Patricia van der Vliet, Jourdan Dunn, Ginta Lapina, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Constance Jablonski, Frida Aasen, Nadja Bender, Carolina Herrera

Lightweight silks and sheer organza contrast against metallic finishes and crushed leathers, grounding a classic black-and-ivory base with vibrant pops of ink, citron, and berry.
